Südtiroler Ritterspiele 2022

Well... I'm back from South tyrol,or to be more precise, back from the Südtiroler Ritterspiele 2022, held near the beautiful, little Village of Schluderns.
(Technically I'm back since Sunday evening... needed a few to get everything here back rolling. )

Why did I go in the first place?

A good friend of mine was celebrating her birthday and she picked this location.

Well and my late dad was from Bozen / Südtirol and the region was for many years like a second home for me.

Having not been there for many years... it was high time to experience the great mountainous region, taste the fantastic food and hear the specific,

charming dialect again... and most of all: the (in general) friendly, open, very direct and "no bs" ppl. living there.

Did not now how much I missed it until I actually started my car to make my way there.

The trip was just great. We had a nice, little, relaxed group of friends.

Hung out together whenever we wanted, everyone was free to enjoy time on his/her own... all around zero stress - loved it.

The fare was very well visited without being overcrowded, attendees where at no noticeable point aggressive or overly loud. Most where enjoying their beverages responsibly.

Food and drinks where of excellent quality and reasonably priced, lots to see, many ppl. to chat with, good stuff to buy.

Found out that I actually CAN sleep in the back of my car for two nights - don't want to do it for a third.
Driving back was - a little story of it's own, as by total coincidence I made a little detour to a beautiful little rock hounding location.

Yes, I could go into A LOT of detail about basically every aspect of this three day trip... but
A: I do not want to bore everyone here to death and

B: this was a private birthday party... and what happened in Schluderns stays in Schluderns.

Summary: 10/10. WILL do again!

(Next time with a roof tent for my car )

Gabriel, your opening narrative had me chuckling several times. LOL

What an absolutely FUN experience! I would have LOVED to have experienced this (for real...not just pictures! LOL).

Once again...thank you SO much for taking us along for "most" of what happened on the trip!

Sounds like you had a fabulous time.  How could you not with a festival surrounded by all those glorious mountains?  I really enjoyed seeing the pictures.  Thanks for taking us along virtually!

Oh.... ok.

Somehow you seem a little cruel... kinda? Well, it's the old ages...

They had jousts and all kinds of entertainment in the arena.

Did not photograph most of it AND did not attend a bunch as just wandering around, talking to ppl. and sitting down for some nice food and drink was much more fun.

So your bet is right on the money.
