This is my go to pendant that I made a couple of years ago now, that I thought I'd share.
A simple bezel set pietersite cab, made in copper.
It was before I cut my own stones & I purchased the cab from an overseas buyer.
Sadly, I wasn't thinking straight, as I should have gotten matching earrings.
Some point, I hope to track down a compliment stone. Thanks for looking , Patty

Beautiful pendant, Patty! You chose a really nice stone and keeping it simple makes the stone the center of attention.

Thanks for the kind words, jamesp. Definitely NOT a master at anything - but enjoy trying just the same .
I finally broke down yesterday & admitted to myself that I'm not going to afford a nice slab of Blue Pietersite any time soon,
and ordered a matched set of cabs for earrings.
Funny the slab prices are up there , but the pre-made cabs from overseas were only $16.
Guess I'll feel accomplished if I can pull off a nice matching set of earrings.

Darn oversea labor. May not be their fault. Probably the results of an oppressive government. Heavier products that are costly to ship are often not subject to such competition. Not to mention there is great sentiment for jewelry made by our friends and acquaintances. One would be hard pressed to find the quality of workmanship in oversea products.

I would have preferred to buy a slab and cut some small cabs myself, but at $150 and up and up for a small slab, that's just out of my price range. I know that the labor overseas is part of the price difference, that's with everything- BUT I'm not comparing cabs there to cabs here, rather cabs there to slabs here. My guess is the US market prices even rough high, for the pretty rock. Pietersite to my knowledge is from Africa I believe, so both us & India are importing it.
However, I have to disagree about quality of workmanship in oversea products, personally I believe that they can and do produce beautiful workmanship across many fields, you just have to be willing to pay for it. Many people go the manufacturing route overseas to cut costs, so skimp on some of the quality to keep the price low.
Look at clothing for instant, cheap t-shirts, detailed pair of jeans, men's dress shirts, or a fine tailored suit, all made overseas.
OTOH- most of us couldn't afford to dress in the morning if we were buying 100% USA made clothing of USA made cloth, from USA grown cotton.
Just sayin'

I've bought overseas cabs and have never once been happy. I no longer do it. China and India are the worse. Indonesia wasn't too bad. I have bought pietersite, in particular, and was flat out ripped off. The ads were very deceptive.

Well I took a chance, and at $16 I'm OK with that.
OTOH- the stone from my original pendant came from India, and I think it's pretty nice.
We shall see.

I don't know what IG stands for?
But that original cab was just from an Indian seller on e-bay. It was a couple of years ago. Patty

I have to say, I have never been that lucky on eBay with foreign cabs. I hope your earring cabs look as good.
