That's one way to clean the floor. I'll get Bob started on that after he's had a little time to recuperate. My kitchen floor is in dire need of a good cleaning, lol! Wishing him best of luck! Wish I could be the one doing his anesthesia !!

Surgery scheduled about 12 hours from now, updates to follow.

rockpickerforever Jean...I hadn't forgot about it...I've thought about it every time I've seen a post from you since then. I too believe in the power of prayer...and the power of positive thoughts. I think this should be bumped daily. The more people who see it...the more "good vibes" will be flowing through the airwaves! If everyone who comes into this thread reads this imagine how many more prayers we can be sending out... LORD PLEASE BE WITH BOB DURING HIS TIME OF NEED AS HE PREPARES FOR HIS SURGERY. PLEASE BLESS THE SURGEON AND MEDICAL PERSONELLE WHO WILL ADMINISTER YOUR HEALING FOR BOB. THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING THERE IN OUR TIMES OF NEED...AND IN OUR TIMES THAT WE FORGET OUR NEED FOR YOU. AMEN Good Morning Jean!! I've got my knee-pads out and my alarm set for just before 10:30 EST...and I'm gearing up for some intense negotiations with the "Big Guy" at that time! Please give a big hug to Bob from all of us on RTH...and give yourself one this morning too! You two will be in a LOT of thoughts and prayers today!!

Jean, thinking and praying for Bob and you this morning. Prayers will slowly build to a crescendo at 10:30 your time and go into a holding pattern until you give us the bat signal. Make sure you're taking care of yourself, too.

I have sufficient time to give prayers my whole attention, Girl! May God watch over Bob and his medical team. Thank you, Tela. We are at the hospital in Pre-op. They just used an electric razor on Bob's chest, just in case, and his groin area. Now he is in the shower again, getting off the shaved hair and using the lye soap again. This is the third shower he's had since 9 last night. More later...

Thank you Jason jasoninsd . We got up at 5:30 (so Bob could take another shower using their soap), and left just before 7 (the hospital is not far). Just for some added excitement to the day, some bimbette in a black Volkswagen about totals us less than a couple miles from home. We were in the fast lane going north on a four lane road, she enters the road from a side street, makes a right turn into the slow lane, then decides she needs to go another lane, and tries to occupy the same space as us. I slammed on the brakes and pulled to the left to avoid hitting her, THEN blasted her with my horn, then shared a finger with her. I couldn't tell you what nationality she was, but pretty sure English was not her first language. New arrivals that Biden invited here are clueless when it comes to driving. Now, where was I? Oh, yeah, we arrived at the hospital with plenty of time to check in, got checked in and taken to pre-op. Because of Covid, this is the first time since Bob last had other procedures done that I was allowed to go in with him. The anesthesiologist was 20 minutes late. Before he arrived, the PACU nurses were talking amongst themselves how fussy this guy is, everything has to be just so. We met him and he was everything they said he was. The biggest issue was that he needed Bob clean shaven - "beard has to go!" a necessity if they have an emergency and he needs to be intubated. I'll blame the nurses for that one. So that set us back a little more. A funny thing, they introduced the person who would be wheeling his chariot (hospital bed) down the hall for surgery. So now Pablo (that's really his name!) has to wait for the beard buzzing to be done. He walks away but is still in the general area. They let him know when Bob is ready to go, and he says, "Who's this guy?" He was joking, but Bob really does look quite a bit different without facial hair. I didn't take a before pic, but I got one of the nurse finishing him up. He'll hate me for it, but I'll post that pic a little later. Once they took him away, I came on home, they'll call with any info. I did not get a cup of coffee until afternoon!! Thank you again for all the prayers I know you said for him, sorry that the start time got delayed. jasoninsd , how are your knees doing? Did the knee pads help? LOL. Will be back later with the good news. Jean

Thanks, Chad Son Of Beach. I think you could take a guess what it means, chances are, you would be right!. I would not want to disparage anyone. I did thank the Lord for keeping us out of an accident, on this of all days. Definitely NOT how I wanted my day to go!

FYI to everyone following this thread.
GOOD NEWS!
I got a call from the hospital and they told me Bob made it through the valve replacement surgery just fine. He is currented in recovery. They said they would be moving him to the hospital proper this afternoon. They gave me a phone number to call in a couple hours (around 4pm Pacific time) and let me know when I can go see him. They will put him in a room, and he will spend the night. I will go see him when they say I can.
I know none of the details, so I will hold up with the full update until I speak with them. But he made it thrugh the surgery just fine, and he's got a new aortic valve in his beating heart. Piece of cake!
