Praying for Bob and you to stay strong. snuffy, I saw your post a couple days ago, don't know how I forgot to rely to you. Thank you so much for the prayers and well wishes, they mean a lot to us. I will be keeping everyone updated with news. Bob's check-in time is 7:30 Wednesday morning. The procedure is scheduled for 9 am. I expect it will take a few hours, and I'll get the first report from the doctor around noon-ish. They'll keep him overnight, and I'll go get him on Thursday. Will update as it goes along.

Good morning, Jean. Thinking of you and Bob as the countdown clock has begun. Try to remain calm and enjoy some together time. I remember talking to you when I had my heart scare. What really helped was the quality time I had with DH. Not to say that's the last time you will have a chance to--- AT ALL. It is just very reassuring to have that time together.

Don't be so quick to count me out as a Jerry's kid! LOL I read my wife my "joke" post from this thread the other day...she got a horrified look on her face in disbelief that I would post that. I told her I knew you wouldn't take it as though I was making light of the situation...just trying to alleviate some tension and stress. The BOTH of you have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. You a funny guy, Jason. Please let your wife know that I knew you were attempting to interject some humor, add some levity to the situation. Tell her we joke around like that all the time, and seriously, I did not take one teeny, tiny bit of offense. I went to my Dad's as usual on a Monday morning, afterwards took a couple hours out of the day going to a building on the the hospital campus - the pre-anesthesia group, going over medications again, etc. Sad to say we had to wear masks in the building (same building where they do all things radiology, and they don't require muzzling), I guess they still believe masks that won't filter out something as small as a virus are going to keep the virus away, lol. He got his liquid soap (a small bottle, not a gallon bottle like I had been led to believe). Not Hexaderm, but something similar, and directions for use. Got swabs up his nose for Covid test, more swabs to check for MRSA, and they took some blood. We did find out something good - Bob has met the maximum out-of-pocket amount for the year, so no co-pay! We talked to them about the possibility that Bob might need blood during the procedure. I told them that we are both A+, and I could donate a pint. His doctor had told us earlier to just wait and see if it was necessary. The gal said even though we are the same blood type, they would still have to run additional tests to see if it would be compatible, said there is a lengthy process. Sounds like a BS story to me. When someone gets blood from the blood bank, they don't know who is going to get it, or have special compatibility tests done on it. So now we pray nothing goes wrong, and they don't have to give him any blood (to save his life, give him possibly spike-tainted blood that could kill him, same as if he had gotten the jab. Now, that makes absolutely no sense). I know everyone has different feelings on this, one of those things if you can avoid what's in the mRNA shots the better off you will be. That's all I'll say on that. I thought Biden had said the Plandemic is over? I've been awake since 3 am, so fading in and out (nodding off). Tomorrow will be a day of rest before the big day on Wednesday. We've already voted, got that out of the way a week ago. Now the weather has turned, and the weather guessers say we will get some significant rain during the next three days. Wonderful. Once again, I thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and well wishes! I plan on sleeping in a little tomorrow, hope the dang hooty owls hooting outside my bedroom window at all hours of the night don't keep me awake! I will tell my wife what you said...but first I'll probably tell her you were just as horrified at what I wrote as she was! That oughta get her going pretty good! Please take a moment today and reminisce with Bob about that special moment in y'alls relationship when you knew it was for real...no...not your first kiss...but the time y'all farted in front of each other for the first time. Remember also...masks are nothing more than "coughy filters"! Okay...okay... That's really too bad about not being able to donate your own blood for the operation. I really do wish that were possible...at least you know the source if it were from you! I really do hope you're able to find some time for yourself today to catch up on some much needed ZZZ's! (Note, I didn't say "beauty rest" as you've had plenty of that! ) Also...please pass on my condolences to Bob for his beard loss. I know you said you only "trimmed" it...bit any loss of beard length is worth shedding a tear over! One final thought in my post this morning. I'm praying the doctors involved in Bob's surgery tomorrow are all as skilled at what THEY do as these guys are with what they do!! Thoughts and prayers headed your way for the BOTH of you!

Good morning, Jason jasoninsd. You are hilarious, how does your wife put up with you, lol? I slept pretty well last night, although the owls were talking from about 4 to 4:30. Did not get up to see the lunar eclipse either. Have not peeked outside yet, but they had said clouds most likely would obscure any viewing. Bob is not crying over a few shortened beard hairs, his beard grows pretty quick. He's not always had a beard, but he had one when we met. It was pretty full, and it was red! Loved the tree felling clip. Damn, those guys are GOOD! Pretty sure of themselves to even attempt that. It's funny, my neighbor had asked me yesterday what time Bob's surgery was at, so she could be sure to pray extra hard at that time! Jason, thanks again for the T & Ps. Sending my love to every RTHling, y'all are the best people!

I forgot to mention that my wife and I conspired to dress up as Peruvian Owls for Halloween this year...wait for it...we were "Inca hoots"! My jaw dropped when I saw how that tree dropped! You're right...that's gotta be the epitome of "confidence" right there!! I'm in agreement with your neighbor...there's just certain times when prayer needs to be "supersized"! And as far as RTHlings being "the best"...well...you're right up there towards the top of the list! (I had to put towards and not "at"...I didn't want anyone else wondering where they fell on the list! LOL)

jasoninsd I was going to try to go back go sleep, try to catch a few ZZZs. Bob usually sleeps until 9 or later, so no rush to get up to do anything. He is a bit of a night owl, regularly staying up to midnight or later. No owls this morning, but the jets are sure noisy. Because of weather conditions, the planes are taking off from San Diego to the south, heading into the wind (opposite normal pattern). We are under their flight path. Not so loud when they are coming in, extra loud when taking off!

Not so loud when they are coming in, extra loud when taking off! Those planes must be teenagers. SO loud when they're leaving the house...but super quiet when they're coming in...after curfew hours! LOL I hope the weather clears up for you guys for tomorrow. They're calling for heavy winds and snow for us starting tomorrow...or tomorrow night. Travel will be sketchy in certain areas. We live out by the airport. Not a "major" hub, so there's not a constant barrage of noise...just every once in awhile. There's an Air Force base out here as well...which has B1 Bombers. When they fly over the house, the pictures rattle on the walls!! LOL

Jason jasoninsd Speaking of pictures rattling on the walls - we have a lot of military aircraft flying around here. Loudest are the Ospreys out of Miramar Marine Base.

I logged in to see, and found out the start time of his surgery is actually 10:30 am now. Three hours after he checks in. Now I need to contact my neighbor, and let her know the real time, so she doesn't waste time praying hardest too early, lol.

He has no idea how much he has added to my measly little prayer request, lol. If this doesn't get God's ear, I don't know what would!

The participation in this thread and the outpouring of thoughts and prayers is simply a direct reflection of who you are and what you bring to the lives of other forum members. I have my alarm set on my phone for tomorrow so I know when to put the prayers into overdrive!

Thanks again, Jason. You way underestimate how much help you have been to us!
We'll be getting up at 5:30, so Bob can take his second antimicrobial shower, then a short drive to the hospital to get checked in at 7:30.
You did get the memo that I learned the surgery starts at 10:30, right?

You did get the memo that I learned the surgery starts at 10:30, right? Yep. I saw the time change...alarm set for 12:19pm my time. I want to get an early start on the accelerated praying...as I like to be first in line ya know! Ran across this earlier and have been waiting to post this! Please remind Bob that after the surgery tomorrow he'll still have some rehab he's going to need to go through. I hear it's pretty simple as long as you follow directions closely. Here's a video to show him how easy it can be as long as you have a good instructor like this guy appears to be:

That's one way to clean the floor. I'll get Bob started on that after he's had a little time to recuperate. My kitchen floor is in dire need of a good cleaning, lol!
