Not that there isn't plenty that could be debated. As for myself, it's been a busy summer, and I've been too disgusted to take time out to point out some of the stuff that has been going on lately. Here are a few highlights... Barack Obama made a big deal about creating the Most Transparent Administration Evah in the 2008 Hope and Change campaign, and after taking office appointed a transparency “czar,” which is in itself a contradiction in terms. Well now Prez. Obama has reassigned the Transparency Czar, The White House wants to reassure everyone that the duties won’t disappear, however. They will transfer Norm Eisen’s duties as he leaves to become US Ambassador to the Czech Republic to … Obama’s chief counsel, Robert Bauer — because attorneys are all about full public disclosure of activities. www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columns/Obama-closes-curtain-on-transparency-468557-100595914.htmlWhite House using the stimulus tracking website Recovery.gov to disseminate propaganda. thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/114653-issa-calls-recoverygov-qpropagandaqTurns out that billions of stimulus money went to foreign banks, no wonder there are no jobs (other than government positions) being created. rawstory.com/rs/2010/0812/watchdog-panel-bailout-money-ends-overseas-banks/Did you know that federal jobs pay twice as much as private sector jobs? www.usatoday.com/money/economy/income/2010-08-10-1Afedpay10_ST_N.htmDid you know that the true unemployment rate is around 22%? dailybail.com/home/chart-shock-the-real-unemployment-rate-is-22.htmlUnemployment rate during The Great Depression,? From Wiki: The unemployment rate for the years 1923-29 was 3.3 percent. In 1931 it jumped to 15.9, in 1933 it was 24.9 percent. It remained at these extremely high levels until 1942, when it dropped to 4.7 percent. On The Mosque... Obama came out in favor of building it, Hamas says they approve. Obama then tried to distance himself from the issue 24 hours later. Meanwhile the State Department has sent one of the project’s central figures, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is "on a mission from the United States government to promote religious tolerance in the Arab world." (And perhaps a bit of fund raising) This Imam has refused to call Hamas a terrorist group. hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2010/08/11/state-department-to-send-ground-zero-mosque-imam-on-third-middle-east-tour/Now Harry Reid has come out against the mosque, (Pitiful attempt to get re elected) and Nancy Pelosi is calling for those opposed to it to be investigated. www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2010/aug/17/audio-rep-pelosi-calls-investigation-wtc-mosque-op/Did you know that landing gear of one of the planes used in 911 attack crashed through roof of proposed mosque site? One could go on and on... But as noted, November is not far off. I just hope that if the Republicans do regain a large measure of control that they are up to the task. We are running out of options.

As usual...lots of bitchin and moanin but no ideas or substance from the other side.
The gulf was handled efficiently and professionally...could you imagine if the other side was in control, we'd be paying BP instead of the way it's been handled. You'd get lots more political opportunists like Bobby Jindal; Let's build Sand berms that wash away with the first high tide instead of focusing on real solutions to the problem. The effects of this catastophe will be felt for decades but this administration wants BP to pay and is holding their feet to the fire. The reps wants to cap their liability and make us pay or just leave the oil be.
The party of No has reached new lows over the past two years. they refuse to help anyone who has lost a job except their fat cat buddies and continue to look on the American people with disdain. Unemployment and help with Cobra are wins for the people but only Dems care enough about people to put money into jobs and aid to people who actually need it.
Waste is everywhere, always has been and always will; you have to fight it everywhere but I've worked in Government and in Private industry and no one has a monopoly on waste ... except Government pays less than private industry. In private industry, people at the top get lots of the pie even when they run a company into the ground and then they get severance that is even more than they ever deserved if they were successful.
Talk about no show jobs...the Republican part of Congress refuses to help the unemployed and underemployed people in this country, foolishly thinking that will get them elected (and with enough of people who don't care, they just might). If the Reps have ideas, put them forth. We want to hear them. Whenever my Dad complained about someone or something, my Mom would force him to say what he would do in that situation. You can't complain if you don't have a better idea.
The Reps have aligned themselves with The Australian propaganda machine (also known as Fox News). It amazes me when so called fair and balanced people align themselves with a foreign carpetbagger like Murdoch. He would sell his own Mother to make another buck and has no concern for decency or honor. He knows how to agitate and get a rise out of the populous.
The Reps have aligned themselves with the Tea Party...another group with no concern for the people of this country...If reps or Tea Party activists had any real concern over spending and deficits, they would have opposed Bush; only Libertarians and Fiscally Conservative Dems and Indys opposed Bushs crazy spending...He took a balanced budget and almost broke the Worlds economy...we continue to suffer for the crazy policies enacted by the Bush Cheney braintrust.

Just like the B.O. folks. Blame it all on Bush. Mr. B.O. has had 18 months of blame it on Bush now. Isn't it time he starts taking some of the blame for "HIS" failed policies ? His whole administration smells of B.O. Don

Rich, You speak the truth as always. Bush and the Republicans took a solvent country and made us a nation with high debt for no good reason except greed. The worst trend in the country is that there is plenty of wealth available for everyone but most of it only goes to the top. That is just plain wrong. When I was growing up, most people, not just CEOs, could make a decent living. Blue collar workers could afford to buy a house in a decent neighborhood or move out to the country. Most children could expect through hard work and a decent education to do better than the generation of their parents...Now our children have no jobs while the rich get even richer (while they cry about paying so much in taxes). These fat cats increase their paychecks and bonuses while firing the people who do the heavy lifting.

the cries of people that Obama is a Commie and a Socialist are so silly as to be laughable, except that a lot of people actually take this stuff serious..i would argue that he, like Clinton before him are just middle of the road pragmatists who just ask for good ideas to strengthen the country without regard for ideology

America is going to hell in a hand basket and all you have to worry about is the people that make more money than you do? Obama has done NOTHING to encourage the economy. Every time he does something, businesses get more worried and hire no one. They are scared to death to invest in anything because they have no idea of what's next. They don't even know what this idiotic health care bill is going to cost them. They have no idea of what asinine taxes they will have to pay next. At this point we don't even know what kind of income taxes we will have to pay next year.
Obviously you have never owned a business.

If what you say were true, (and it isn't), Mr. B.O. would have demanded that Pelosi and Reed sit down at the table with the republicans and hash out something that would benefit the American people, instead of doing everything behind closed doors.
As for Mr. B.O. being a Socialist, Maybe he is, and maybe he isn't. The only thing we have to judge that by are the Socialist leaning people he has surrounded himself with, as his top advisers. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.

Man this Commie chanting from the left is getting tiresome and thank God, Americans are finally getting wise to it. You lefties believe in redistribution of wealth and that the government can create jobs when it's actually private businesses that create jobs. The government created jobs cost many times what those in the private sector do too so they are an inefficient waste of money. You believe in rewarding failure by giving losers money earned by the successful. Punishing success is classic commie BS! You believe in unions which, if you look at any postage stamp from the commie countries, are simply workers parties as symbolized by the old hammer and sickle of the soviets. You believe in bailing out credit card debtors with money stolen from the workers who correctly manage their debt. Same with mortgages. You want to screw the folks who buy smart and pay theirs and steal money from the successful to help defaulters out with their self created problems. Every thing you lefties believe in is an excuse for bad behavior. Obama constantly bails out corporate crooks and crooked unions with other peoples money causing a gross increase in our national debt. No difference between him and a lot of Republicans there except at least the Republicans follow established laws instead of making them up as they go along. You Dems are the biggest bunch of whiners I've ever seen. Oh the poor little working man who is so put upon by the guys who gave him a job. Well, lookee lookee, screw with the boss and he eliminates your job. Were still losing jobs like crazy despite all the bailouts and tarps. Imagine that! I got a Republican idea for you. Stop welfare for the fit to work, stop unemployment after the usual 26 weeks as to run it longer is an incentive to not work, and put the healthy unemployed to work in the fields harvesting our crops , in the construction sites building our homes and restaurants washing our dishes and cooking our food. Then we can get rid of the illegals too.....Mel
PS: Obamaites are the dumbest *ucks ( ducks- They do quack like ducks all right) I've ever seen *L* and your take on the oil spill etc is the biggest bunch of balderdash I've ever read. Didn't you watch the news interviews with locals all during that period? Jeez! And the drilling moratorium fallout, man the crap coming from that is yet to be seen but it ain't gonna be pretty.

Recently, a few political scientists have begun to discover a human tendency deeply discouraging to anyone with faith in the power of information. It’s this: Facts don’t necessarily have the power to change our minds. In fact, quite the opposite. In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs. Facts, they found, were not curing misinformation. Like an underpowered antibiotic, facts could actually make misinformation even stronger.www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2010/07/11/how_facts_backfire/Same idea, but cats this time, Mel. ;D www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2010/08/18/petscol081810.DTL

The Boston Globe. Let me see now, Isn't that in the state where the Kennedy clan live ? Oh, that's right, the Kennedy's are all Democrats. They have that state, and the news media wrapped around their little fingers, now don't they. The Boston Globe, and most of the news outlets for that matter report just what the Democratic government wants them to report. Sort of like that canned news that the military got via the Stars & Stripes, government run newspaper That we got in Viet Nam. As I remember, we used to read the comics, and use the rest for wiping paper when that white stuff on a role was in short supply. That's all that 90% of the news media is worth today. Wiping paper.
