We agree on one thing, Curt – the American Empire has seen its best days.
As for worryin’ about other people’s money, I ain’t, and never did. Got more than enough to keep me happy.

Actually I agree with you Rich that facts play little in what people believe. The Obama supporters are classic examples.

Hmm,now that Kennedys have come up.How many of them ever had a real job? About the only sweat they ever had was when they were gettin' some, other than trying to explain how he didnt get across that bridge. Yeah, they are real democrats, telling everyone how they should live. The great Kennedy fortune made by the old man, partnering with the Mob and bootlegging, damn they are high and mighty Democrats.I have heard Kennedys my whole life and am grateful wont hear much anymore.

Jake – Look no further than today’s news. One-fifth of Americans, one-third of Republikans, think Obama’s a Muslim. ;D

Ahh, this is more like it!!
Just one big happy family ;D
The poll also says there are some Dems and Independents that are not so sure..."The Pew poll found that about three in 10 of Obama's fiercest political rivals, Republicans and conservatives, say he is a Muslim. That is up significantly from last year and far higher than the share of Democrats and liberals who say so. But even among his supporters, the number saying he is a Christian has fallen since 2009, with just 43 percent of blacks and 46 percent of Democrats saying he is Christian."
I think the confusion may come from people seeing him flocking with the wrong birds....

Jake – Look no further than today’s news. One-fifth of Americans, one-third of Republikans, think Obama’s a Muslim. ;D That's because he gives the impression that he is. In an interview with George Stephawhatever on ABC, they were discussing this and Obama said something to the effect of John McCain never questioned my Muslim faith. George was over there saying Christian, pssst, Christian faith. ROFL Of course Obama says, uhh, yeah, my Christian faith and goes on like nothing happened. Really guys, how can you possibly have any faith whatsoever in this man? Curt

Ya, and B.O. has got big ones too, if he thinks the American people haven't noticed how he's pushing us down the path towards socialism. All hail Comrad Obama, Supreme ruler of the U.S.A.

Dicky, The heading for this section of the forum reads as follows; "Life, the Universe and Everything. From time to time - things that are not related to rocks are talked about. Politics etc. " If it's too hot in here, there are 20 other rooms besides the kitchen...

Bill Dicky is new and hasn't had the pleasure of our political discussions yet. This has been a rather docile discussion to this point Dicky. Stick around, sometimes it really gets hot. ;D

No offense meant to Dicky, Just wanted to point out that this section is for such discussions. I liken it to the sort of old-time greasy spoon cafe that one finds in small towns. All the locals gather, and discuss the issues of the day in a town hall sort of fashion.
Upon noting Dicky's geographic location, I suspect he would be a great addition to our discourse. :cheesy:

Dicky stick around, these can get very entertaining. Both sides put up a good fight in a kinda polite way. Reminds me of when I worked winters in the north. No am/fm radio stations to be found. Unless you had a Serious. I would listen to talk left and the talk right for a few hours each day. Music puts me to sleep.

Don't be so serious Dicky. Outside of these threads we all share the same love and could even be in the same room together. Just wait until another global warming thread gets going - almost as fun as politics.

Dicky, My family lived in Green Mtn. Falls, many, many years ago...in fact my uncle worked for the city there...and as a 11 year old I got to ride the fire engine one time. (My uncle had to keep the battery charged up...so once a week he drove it around town) back in the 50's...our family's from Woodland Park...
by the way, You got a bigggggg rock in your back yard...Pikes Peak....
give this group some time and you will fit in fine...

ahh this is just fun time between rock talk haha
OK i agree with mom chassroc you said -- Whenever my Dad complained about someone or something, my Mom would force him to say what he would do in that situation. You can't complain if you don't have a better idea.
i got a few--- first i would cancel Americas participation in the UN that will save alot of money -- next stop all handouts that go out of the country that would save billions -- then we need to close the borders for real and deport every illegal alien and man the border with troops so they don't get back in that would save billions a year -- then the most important thing would be to impeach and deport obummer and his muslim friends -- i could prob go on but i think that would be a great start -- with all the money that would save we could cut tax's let small biz start hiring again and America would be back on the right track --- thats my suggestion's
but im sure obummer would close the doors again and just do what ever he wants like usuall -- thats why he needs to be gone

This country needs better job opportunities. If private indutry is not providing, it is up to the Governement to step into the void, which they have done and need to do more of. In cases like the Auto companies and the banks, the Government stepped in, provided, straightened things out and quickly got out of the way. No Socialism, just help where it is needed.
Obama and the Dems have gone out of their way to create a bipartisan government but all the Republicans can do is nothing. Republicans may not like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi but that does not mean they can pack up and go home and refuse to play ball. They refuse to govern and so far it has worked well(for them) and bad for most Americans. I am mad when I pay the bloated salaries of people who do no work and make things worse in the hopes of getting more people like them elected and reelected. Thats wrong. And rewarding them for this behavior makes me mad. When you screw up the country and the economy like the Redpublicans did, you have a moral obligation to help make it better. They refuse to help any Americans and that is not right.

Obama and the Dems have gone out of their way to create a bipartisan government but all the Republicans can do is nothing.
When the Republicans tried to bring suggestions to the table on the healthcare debacle, the Democrats went to the back room and made multimillion dollar bribes to get their own party members to vote for it.
Bipartisanship does not mean it's my way or the highway. It means finding common ground.
Obama thinks bipartisanship is agree with me. And that is not going to happen.
As far as doing nothing, in the case of Congress, doing nothing is far better than destroying America.
