this would be almost a bucket list item for me.... would love to go... and bring back a couple hundred pounds of good flint ridge flint to try knapping/cabbing..... may get there one day... even if I have to take a train and rental car!!! Good luck & have fun people... don't forget the buckets to carry it in !!!
It can come in all sizes from small chunks to boulders!!!
I would recommend large pinch bar... at least 4 feet long, 6 is the norm length!

I have an extremely long bar - at least 6 feet along with smaller ones. We'll see if we can bring them into play...

Chuck pointed this trip out to me. Depending how things go with my closing (buying a new house) I'd like to go. It would be nice to meet some of the RTH members face to face.

Its a 4.5 hr trip to get there for us so I am hoping to get there around 10:30-11:00. I will be watching the weather closely and as long as it looks good we will make the trip. With the current crazy gas prices ($4.35 here today) I would like to take the minivan do you guys know if the access road is OK for a minivan? 50 cents a pound sounds great till you add $130 in gas to get there and back. we are looking forward to it and might even camp somewhere later that night and hit fossilpark in Sylvania Ohio the next day. we don't collect fossils but the park is only 20 minutes out of the way so it might still be fun. www.olanderpark.com/pages/Fossil.htmChuck

As of today, forecast is: 84, partly sunny with 10% chance of rain.
Let's see how that changes over a week and a half...

Sounds like good weather so far. 9-9:30 is probably t early for me even though I probably have the shortest drive. I'm thinking it will be closer to noon for me.
Chuck we just parked at the farm literally right across the street. I think it would probably be ok to drive back the road in a minivan but you will probably want to check it out 1st. If not it is a very short walk back there.

Thanks Bill. I was hoping you would chime in since you have been there. We might be closer to noon too but that leaves plenty of daylight so no rush.

Picked the 9 o'clock time because i get off work at 6 that morning and it would take me about that long to drive straight there. Don't want to go home, try to sleep for a few hours and then drive down. A little sleep is worse than none sometimes. We'll figure it out.we don't all have to get there at the same time as long as we overlap.

Are you'all going for Sunday only? Been wanting to go there. Is there camping available on the farm,or close by. About 6-7 hours for me. Will need to bring the little trailer and stay a couple days.

I know its still a few days off but have you guys been watching the weather for fathers day? I think I am able to do Saturday or Sunday so if it gets closer and Sunday is looking bad I am able to switch to Saturday. any thoughts? If we do Sunday we might not need to bring a spray bottle to get the rocks wet www.weather.com/weather/weekend/Zanesville+OH+USOH1078:1:USChuck
