well, the really bad part of this is that I just found this thread today...The good part of this thread is that I just found it today and with the hip issues I am having I would have to give it up, which would really suck!!

Whats the difference anyway? Hey Orrum, Geodes are usually hollow and have crystals growing within them and they are very light when you pick them up. Thundereggs are solid and have agate, chalcedony, and common opal in them. to name a few. Some may even have moss in them too. If you bring back A MFRB of Geodes, I'd be interested in getting them from you.

Roy I am in Brigham Utah. 347 miles to Succor Creek State Natural Area according to my gps. It has a free campground. Is this the right one or is it the lake place? I shoild be there tomoro evening. When are you and Tony coming? Are we having a covered dish dinner one nite? I know a lot of questions.
Dad ohs send me your mailing address and if there are enough geodes I will send you some. Have to wait and parcel them out. Some are solid and some hollow. Gotta see whats left.

I met Roland ( rockroller) tonight at the local rock club meeting, he just moved to the town where I live. We are planning on coming but if there is a high probability of rain we may confer and see what other options there are. We will monitor conditions.

Rain is in the forecast from Tues till Sunday. Tuesday is 90% then it is 30% and 40% the rest of the week. The thing is they are not real good at predicting the weather here. Getting around is hard when it gets wet out there. But we might not get a drop of rain it's a 50/50 shot. The temps in Boise are in the 50's this week, so out there it will be in 40's day and 30's at night. Bring your fall gear.

We will be there too, but it looks like we're back to the lodging in Homedale option. The tent that I thought was still in our camping gear is no longer there. Looks like it's only 22 miles away though. It is Succor Creek Rd going south from hwy 19/201, right? I have a pretty light work week so we should be headed out of Portland by noon Thursday, maybe earlier.

I already told Roy privately but sadly we are not going to be able to make it this time. Thank you Tony and Roy for doing this - I hope you do it again someday soon.

roy where should I weather map? Boise is probably too far to be accurate, is there a better town/city to search?

Rain fell most of the day in Boise. Kinda strange, should be dry this time of the year.
