Too far out to say for sure, but have it penciled in. Hopefully some others will chime in.

Lord willing and the creek don't rise, WE'RE IN! It would be like 9 straight days of rockin' for us, since we would go from there straight to Hancock Station for the rockhound retreat. WOOT WOOT!

haha! awesome. Thanks Lee!!
Strangely, McDermitt and Chino, CA are almost on the same longitude (within 0.02°!!). However we are nearly 8 degrees of latitude different!!
McDermitt 41.9975° N, 117.7183° W Chino 34.0178° N, 117.6900° W
That equates to a 10 hour drive - one way. I'd need 5 days off work for the three day weekend. Between a new job, Japan for two weeks starting Sunday, three days for orientation @ UC Davis in August and dropping the kidlet off for school in September I simply cannot make this one.
I would dearly love to meet you and your bride, Roy and all the rest on this trip; but please, allow me a polite, "maybe next year". I cannot make this one happen.
I saw some of Tommy's stuff. I KNOW I am missing out!!

Hsy Roy I tried to work out a schedule to go hounding with you on Labor Day but Susan( The Main Squeeze) retired and we got a 24 ft. travel trailer to go west with!!! She said she cant live in my pickup camper, something about it being so small you could make the bed, cook breakfast and flush the commode all at the same time without moving! LOL
Anyway we just cant get all the preparation done in time for a Labor Day get together.....
However we will be going to Chicago the first of Oct. and then west for 6 months to include Quartzsite! I want to take her to Succor Creek. Do you think we are in danger of being snowed in in Oct? I think the scenery is just awesome in the Owyhees in addition to the rockhounding. She is also a avid rockhound!
Maybe we can have a get together with some folks then.

As it turns out, me and my lady are going to be visiting some friends in Boise for the Labor Day weekend. My Boise buddy and I want to do some hounding for at least a half day or so that weekend. At least until the ladies say its enough! Sure would love to meet some of you up there but it would have to be within a couple of hours of the Boise area. Let me know if anyone has specific plans for dates and locations. ~Roland

come on people its going to be a blast and if you can handle taking home lots of rock this trip is for you!! Roy, I plan on camping out (if this dang rain will stop). Is there any meeting place/plans formalized, or should I just plan on coming in to "town" each morning to meet up? That wouldn't really be a big problem. Or I could meet y'all on the loop road at some place at a given time. Plz let me know if there are any plans formalized yet. Thanks
