Tela Formosa is old Latin- roughly for "design well formed". I picked it from a Latin dictionary. OK, I thought it was clever. It is my legal business name. Thanks for clearing that up. I figured Tela Formosa was a business name but since Formosa is the old name for Taiwan I thought you were probably of Chinese descent. I hadn't thought of a Latin origin. It's an attention-catching "handle."

I guess mine is pretty obvious too. We have owned a vacation cottage on Drummond Island (Michigan) for the last 20+ years and have always collected rocks there (mostly pudding stone) but it was only a few years ago that we found out they can be used for things other then landscaping More info: Drummond Island is the 2nd largest freshwater island in the nation (only one larger is Isle royal and that's also in Michigan). www.drummondislandchamber.com/I like this thread. very good to hear the story behind the "handles" Chuck

I've had mine for over 35 years. Got it from work which didn't furnish uniforms to new hires so I wore camo clothing for the first month. One guy called me Jungle Jim and it stuck. Wife still calls me Jungle and I've been retired for almost six years.

1nickthegreek in reference to Nick The Greek from the film Snatch, plus I am 1/2 Greek so it works, picked the handle "thegreasygreek" up when I was into the '50s rockabilly/greaser scene and still grease my hair back 99% of the time lol!!!

Gemfeller is pretty self-explanatory: I'm male and I've been involved with gems of one sort or another most of my life. Fine agates (including fire agates), jaspers and precious opal are my personal favorites. I've also been told I'm a "gem of a fellow" (ok, I made that one up but it might fool someone.) I've operated a gem sales website specializing in faceted stones for the past 7 years and prior to that sold loose stones and original silver and gold hand-made jewelry at craft shows and other venues.

Sabre because in my younger days when I was all whipcord and spring steel and full of vinegar, fencing was one of my favorite sports. Foil was OK, epee was fun, but Hungarian sabre/saber, man that was just so dang swashbuckley and just a plain super awesome blade to play with. Though my fencing coach always claimed I was way too flamboyant, I always thought I were real three musketeery. So then sabre became my favorite blade and my nickname and now my "handle".....Mel

I am fortunate to spend much of the winter in Panama (Central America not Panama City). Then tacked on my first name. Also I like the Van Halen song Panama which sounds like PanaMark if you drink enough beer.

Cardiobill- easy- bill the cardiologist Ha Bill LOL, it's the cardiologist's medical bills that almost give me cardiac arrest, Bill. The "alternative" isn't desirable either. I just went through some AFIB stuff and I'm very thankful for dedicated people in your profession.

Back in 1999-ish, I decided to show my art in an online gallery - Renderosity.com. As I was signing up to the site, it asked for my "artist name". I thought a bit and came up with a sorta edgy, internet-ish spelling of my name: "Rykk" Google it sometime and check out my art. (I do sell prints on canvas and watercolor paper - hint, hint - lol). Years later, I found that in whatever language they speak in Finland, there is a word that's similar: "ryk". It means "jerk". Yeah, I laughed, too! Actually it means the "tug" or "pull" kind of "jerk".
I go by the name, "Cyborg Sam" on Ebay and preface all of my listings using a variation of my artist name, "rykksROX". Ebay's software stripped out the capitals and the space between Cyborg and Sam and so it calls me, "cyborgsam" - which can look sorta x-rated if you don't look too closely - haha! C-ya, Rick
