My names Matt, Years ago I got upset with AOL and 56k speed... (could you imagine 56k today).
I could not sign up for a new email because of the slow speed and the handles I wanted were taken.
I got a little verbal at the computer and yelled "I'm so f@#/ing Mad at You". I said it really fast and it sounded like Matt At Ya.
I typed it into user/email field and BAM it went through.

My forum handle is my full first name... stephen + the first letter of my last name "t". Easier to remember and I have little to no imagination. And never let my operating system or browser "remember" any log-in names or passwords....I gotta keep it simple for my old brain. Others I use in other places are my Amateur Radio callsign...w5set or a combination of name and callsign. I probably should have used another handle/name I have thought of since signing up here... "Collector-of-Leaverite". Good thing the old adage "One (wo)man's trash....another (wo)man's treasure" will cover me <--being politically correct there, transpose as needed for gender. My former wife always suggested I use "stubborn-as-a-mule--almost-as-smart" as a handle...she suggested it enough.

Mine is pretty obscure, but when I was a kid we'd watch the muppets and I always tried to talk like the Swedish Chef. I had this phrase of syllables I'd string together with his accent and inflection. Part of that string was "her-ken" which is where the "herchen" in my username came from and I added the "x" in the early 90's when I needed a username. Dumb. I loved the Swedish Chef! Next to Animal he was my favorite! But now you have to know that whenever I read your trip reports it will unconsciously be in that accent

This thread made me realize that my 'tag' wasn't showing up on posts. Dirt Cleaner is something I picked up when I was heavily into metal detecting. Still seems appropriate for rockhounding.

droseraguy because I was in the carnivorous plant hobby and picked that name for the forum over there. Sundews are the drosera genus(large group) of plants with sticky fingers that trap bugs with their glue. At one time I had over 50 species growing from seed. Too much work and unforgiving. Rocks don't croak when life gets in the way of fun time !

I always use the handle Fatsister. Started as a family joke between me and my sister. We were Lulu and Lerlene Fatsister...neither of us was fat...not so funny now that we are, though.
However, I was needing a name for my rock/jewelry venture, so being a child of the 60's, stole the line from the TV show Laugh In. "Sock it to me" became RockIt2Me..tada!

"Radio" because I am an Amateur radio operator holding a General class license, so I can talk all over the world. My equipment is early 90's vintage before all the menu driven equipment came out and I like it that way. I prefer pushing buttons and twisting knobs rather than scrolling through umpteen menus to make one slight change in settings.
I was first licensed as KI6BCC, but after upgrading to General class I applied for and received the vanity call sign of N6DDD. Yes, I chose triple D before Guy Fieri made Diners, Drive ins and Dives famous on the food network :-)

Nowyo because I'm another with no imagination. Stands for northern Wyoming. It's possible to get farther north in Wyoming, but I can see Montana from the driveway.

I am fortunate to spend much of the winter in Panama (Central America not Panama City). Then tacked on my first name. Also I like the Van Halen song Panama which sounds like PanaMark if you drink enough beer. Dang it, Mark. You posted this almost two weeks ago, and I'm still thinking "Panamark" whenever I hear that song, lol. And that's without drinking any beer!

Don't you just hate when that happens ;-) At least it was a good song (although 2 weeks is a LONG time). I once had a song that was absolute dribble (thankfully my mind has finally overwritten it so I can't remember its name), but I had that one once for a week and I was going crazy!
