I'm not sure how long it takes for the concrete to cure. Hopefully, things will start moving along...the porta potty was just delivered.

I read this post in the "Recent Posts" listing...didn't pay attention to the title or the author. I read the first sentence and thought someone was doing a conglomerate where they plaster/mortar/whatever small rocks in a block and run the block through the saw. Then I read the second sentence and knew I was badly mistaken....got a chuckle out of it, though! Sounds like progress is happening, hang in there and "git'er done"!!!

Something you might want to do is set a post up or stack of blocks and mark it so you can set a camera on it in the exact location. Take a picture everyday (maybe twice a day, but shadows might mess with you) and you can create a short time lapse of the shop being built.

Time lapse... If you're available to take *several* pictures a day then that works well, too. The shadows give added "change", but only a couple might be too "flickery"...new word.

See...a tree I was looking back over the thread and suddenly realized that your dog and those trees are probably close acquaintances. Remember, as captbob alluded to earlier, now's the time for installing an in-floor safe/hidey-hole, small tornado shelter, wine cellar, tunnel to the house, etc.,.

That's a good idea. I wish I knew where my tripod was then I could keep a camera at one of the windows. But I will try to take a couple of pics a day from the same spot. Andrea

They came at 6:30 this morning. I had let the dogs out because I didn't think they would be there before 7. The dogs started going crazy and I had to run out there chasing three barking dogs and get them back inside. I had to leave to take my mom to the hospital for a heart test but snapped a quick pic before I left. I think they were marking out the wall for my rock shop. I'll take more when I get home (hopefully this evening). Andrea

Five days from forming the footings to the pour. Thinking you are not at the top of their priority list. Slow but sure I guess.
What are you temps there, do you need to wet the slab as it dries?

Probably not a good time to let the dogs outside. Looking good.

captbob they worked on it most of last week. They didn't show up on Friday. Then yesterday they showed up for an hour and left. Later in the morning I saw the building inspector out there. We are guessing that the inspector came on Friday and wanted them to do a few things before he signed off on it. We noticed they added a lot more rebar at the garage door entrance and a few other things. So he probably looked at it again and gave them the go ahead. They were here a 6am this morning preparing for the cement truck. As for temps it will be in the mid 70s today and and low to mid 80s the next couple of days. They haven't said anything about keeping it wet. Andrea

Drummond Island Rocks Thanks..... no not a good time to let the dogs out. We fenced off an area for the dogs so I can let them out while the guys are out there working. I have to carry each one out to put them behind the fence, thankfully they are small. My mini Schnauzer (14 yrs old) fell in the trench the day they dug it. Lol. He was ok but a little confused. I don't know how long it takes for the cement to dry so the dogs don't leave footprints. Andrea

Waiting on an inspector to sign off on it makes sense. Those guys can put a cog in the most well oiled machine.
ETA: a small dog shouldn't leave paw prints by this afternoon. More concerned about the dogs getting concrete (lime) on their paws (and licking) than the paw prints. Definitely not a problem by tomorrow morning.
