Pretty cool there, Scott! Those Montanas take some time to tumble whole (sans pre-smoothing). Good thing your tumbler is in 5th gear!

Wanna see what they look like whole! Overdrive tumbler. Maybe need to make an aquarium stand style tumbler like Chuck. Slow it down a bit and quieter, more reliable.

Ur gonna be addicted Scott! I was on a roll, 5 years ago. Then, the fan belt broke the same day I started a new job. Finally got back. I have a huge pile of some very nice stones. When I make my quartz purple vibe, I will be styling. Chilling like jamesp! That is if my vibe will break down AO into polish like his viking.

The bushing is just a standard 6-4 with a stub of 4 inch pipe glued into it. Glue it into one side of coupling, pipe into other side. One sitting on end:

I opened after 20 hours. Slurry like milk, not milkshake. Tons of room inside. Added a few stones, and a cup of dry clay. Cleared the threads of grit and reset cap. Ordering new barrel parts using jamesp bushing method.

Ordering new barrel parts using jamesp bushing method. Dial it in Scott. Experiment till slurry is right. Just remember how much kitty litter you added. 2-3 cups for GA red clay for 20 pounds. Bushing makes a tough barrel. I have been squeezing silicon caulk blob in bottom of round face cap and then pressing a 6 inch paper plate down on the blob to flatten it. Silicon laughs at grit and rocks, however if it delaminates it can catch abrasives.

Maybe rough the surface up and pour epoxy in. Self leveling, very flat.
