Great batch, some of my favorites! It's amazing how consistent the blue in that lace always seems to be. You reckon that's a seam agate? Carlos, these are seam agates. Most all I had were chunks all about the same thickness. snuffy

There are buyers located around.I sold some, but most we ate or gave away. The meat is considered a delicacy by some.Stories I heard was the meat was shipped to Germany, where they preferred the boar. The buyers here would fatten them up,then whatever.I'm sure some ended up in the local restaurant food chain.I barely covered my gas cost to go sell them, trapped them mainly to keep from destroying all my pastures!

I've never tried heating rocks in the oven. I want to stay married. Many years ago I took a pottery class. They mentioned that placing a penny in the kiln would often change the color of the glaze. The temperatures here are lower, but could you get the same effect by putting different metals in the sand with your rocks? I recently bleached some black petrified wood. Now I have white petrified wood. Think I prefer the black, so I may tumble off the white to get the black back. I bought a large turkey roaster to do mine in.Worked well.Dont know about the metal in the sand part.Jamesp is hunting coral, maybe when he gets back he could shed some info on the subject. snuffy

Snuffy, is that driving miles, or as the crow flies? That's not so far! I have so much rock right now, that unless a sale is almost in my backyard, I think I'm gonna have to pass. Besides, have to stay home on the 13th, between 6:30 and 11 am... Jean Driving miles,Jean! About 150 gallons of gas, places to stay, that 25 cent rock would be pretty high! I'm like you got so much rock I'm the one needing to have a sale! snuffy

I've often wondered how many artifacts are laying around or buried in the US.Would probably stagger the imagination if they were all piled in one pile!

I seem to remember a big stink about someone being accused of multiple accounts awhile back in the cab of the month section, and I remember who was all indignant about it. The same person we are discussing here. That same person also gave out my full name and address to someone without my knowledge or permission, as they were running a newbie rock box, and demanded to have everyone's personal information. I blew it off at the time, as I like the person she gave it to. But now I see that this person (Helen) is not to be trusted, Argued with perhaps, but no trust. Sad. Got this from a site dedicated to internet fraud, (How to Fake Your Identity Online) Couldn't find much about multiple people pretending to be one. Warnings You might get mixed up and say different things to different people, who can compare stories and figure out the truth if you're not careful. If you get discovered, you've probably blown all future chances you had at reconciling with the community. They'll be on the lookout now for you in the future and probably won't want to talk to you. You run the risk of having moderators that check for double accounts and may reveal who you are. This is essentially lying. Make sure you're okay with lying to other people before trying this. Consider your own morals. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amen to this Grayfingers. This post should be required reading for every member on RTH!!!! snuffy
