Don't let them run me off Melissa as I don't tumble rocks any more. This a rock tumbling forum, not glass. What the hay, they allow rock lickers I can't be too far off subject. I did finally buy some new toys like a glass kiln and another tile saw. Having fun, all that counts. Afraid we lost ya Jim!! Next thing you gonna be going to Florida chasing down ninja. She blew didn't she? Glass that is!! snuffy

RIP. Always sad to hear.I started lurking here in 2007 before joining in 2009.There are very few folks left on here that were on when I started.Sometimes we hear of a passing, but I often wonder what became of some of these members we don't know about.

Welcome back. Likely they put you on blood thinners like Coumadin (Warfarin). If so you need to be really careful. Some really nasty stuff. Coumadin erodes the blood vessels making them more likely to break and inhibits clotting increasing risk of hemorrhage even with less serious injuries. And it increases the risk of hemorrhagic stroke. So just be extra careful if you are out hounding. Gout can occur for quite a few reasons. Stay away from alcohol in particular, which can really aggravate it. Tart cherry juice is great for gout as it not only reduces the inflammation due to the anthocyanins and the malic acid dissolves the uric acid. They put me on a 6 months of Eliquis. Aint too fond of taking meds like that, but had some serious issues when I went in the hospital.

Hopefully you are all recovered by planting time. If not I would be willing to come up and set plants out for you. It's only about an hour some change dive for me. Just let me know. Henry I did all the hardest part this fall. All holes for the plants dug with a 5 gal pot stuck in them to keep from dirting in,and about a foot of hay piled around them,no weeding. Will be the easiest time I've ever had to plant! This garden this year will morph me into my old folks garden. Thanks for the offer! snuffy

Snuffy!, you need to get healed up, Spring is coming and it will be time set Tomato plants out. I got my seeds in the starter containers, no sprouts yet. Will probably start Peppers and Eggplant in a day or so. My Winter garden took a hit from the cold, Beets are gone, not sure about Kale and Kohlrabi. Lemon tree will drop all the leaves and some freeze damaged limbs will need to be pruned. Take care and hope things go better for you. Henry Yeah,I'll hopefully be alright by then.I buy all my tomato plants from Lowes or Home depot. When the first smaller 6 packs come out, then transplant into gallon pots, same thing for peppers.Should be enough chill hours this winter to have a good fruit crop, hoping a late frost doesn't get them. Always something!! snuffy

Well, the new year hasn't been too exciting this year for me.Have had a cough come and go since Thanksgiving.Long story short, emergency room and hospital for a couple days.Touch of pneumonia, large bloodclots on lungs.Went home after a couple days and immediately developed gout in both ankles.Could not bear to stand up.Worst pain I have ever had.ER visit, things much better. Hope everyone is well out there. snuffy

Wow! Snowed here once a long time ago. Snow melted before it hit the ground. Hope your garden survives. Nothing to lose except some peppers.Need cold weather for the fruit trees. snuffy

Next spring will be my 44th year of gardening.Phased it into an old folks garden this fall.Mulched everything with a foot to foot and a half of hay. From now on,will part the hay and plant,no weeds or grass.Anyone familiar with the Ruth Stout method will recognize. Will make it easier on me. Aint no spring rooster no mo!!! snuffy
