3 or 4 years ago, a lady brought me a very tiny 14K gold ring that had lost a stone and asked me to set a new one. The center one had been lost previously and replaced by someone else which did not match the existing greenish stones very well. I glued a chip on the head of a tiny finish nail and after much sweating and gnashing of teeth, had a tiny cab that matched the one on the opposite side quite closely. If I recall correctly, it was something less than 2 mm in diameter the stone on the left is the original. I replaced the stone on the right. I tried to get her to let me replace the center stone with one that more closely matched the others, but she paid an enormous amount to have it replaced and didn't want to have it replaced again even though I charged about 1/4 what she paid previously elsewhere

That is badazz!!!! Makes me want one, but delivery/shipping would be a bit of a problem :-0
A neat touch might be the addition of a tile surface as an option

If it's green it ain't copper phosphate. It may be aluminum phosphate or a blend of the two. But turquoise is copper phosphate and copper phosphate is blue. ETA marketing names commonly are mistaken, it outright lies. IE white Buffalo turquoise marketed as albino turquoise. Now ya done went and did it! Ya gonna get me started on "White buffalo" and the ripoff of the American public! The material being sold as such these days, even by a couple very respected dealers is NOT Turquoise. The original White Buffalo mine was depleted back in the early 1900's by Native Americans long before Turquoise became popular. The original White Buffalo had flecks of Blue in it and jewelry with it became highly sought after and commanded very high prices. There will always be unscrupulous people claiming to have the real deal in order to part the unwary from the contents of their wallet. In my shop, I do not, and never will sell any "White Buffalo" even though I get requests for it on a regular basis. I do however, keep samples of what is being sold as such so I can educate folks on what they are being sold elsewhere. Kinda my one man crusade against injustice I suppose

Shotguns require no tacticool gear. Using Dead Coyote Hevishot for home defence. 92 pieces of 22 caliber hevishot delivered downrange at 1300fps. Gonna make a bloody mess if I have to use it. Better than buckshot IMHO. Wont go thru and thru killing neighbor and makes more holes to leak from. Only one thing more unnerving than the "Ching ching" of a pump shotgun chambering a round, and that is the little red dot of a laser dancing around center mass!

#2 definitely NOT turquoise. Turquoise is a bluerock and yours are green. Still probably copper, just not phosphate. #5 I'm thinking dendritic opal we have been seeing cabs of recently. Never have I seen rough, so I cannot be certain. Eta found very similar rough pic. I have several pieces of turquoise in a very similar color and even some of the old stock Kingman can be in various shades of Aqua. Turquoise from the #8 mine in Nevada is very close in color to the ones shown above, but #8 is well known for the honey colored matrix throughout which this lacks.

#2 resembles some type of Turquoise, likely Mexican in origin.
#6 I have seen identified as Sunstone, but not the Plush Oregon variety. Most likely from India
That's all I got that hasn't been identified already. others are a mystery

I have a buddy that shoots an AR15,started out with the civilian M16,when he came home from Vietnam...Its the only rifle he owns, uses it for hunting, targets and etc.....Brings down big game with it too! You never want him behind a scope, looking for you!!! LOL He is good... That is a stand up weapon and will continue to be... When I sighted in the Leupold scope on my AR, I started cussing the rifle after the first few rounds. It was bore sighted, so fired one shot and made adjustments to the scope. Fired another and could see it was in the 1 1/2 orange dot, so fired another and couldn't see the new hole in the target, so was positive the rifle slung that round to parts unknown! I muttered a few choice words and fired one more round. This time the hole was about 1/4 inch away from the other one. I walked to the target and my jaw dropped when I saw the second round I thought had missed had enlarged the hole of the first! I never thought an AR15 could be that accurate! I just swapped some custom jewelry for 500 rounds of hunting ammo for it. In the deal I got about 200 rounds of the heavier 69 grain boat tail hollow points which are suitable for deer. I use the 55 grain for Coyotes and Armadillos Full metal jacket (FMJ) is still relatively cheap to practice with if bought in bulk, but I won't shoot critters with it.

really cool pit there Sir! Hope they work well and you sell a bunch of them!
Most likely a laser sight. He has a lot of "accessories" on that SBR! (short barreled rifle)
My AR15 is set up for coyote hunting, so all it wears is a Leupold 3x9 scope. Lots of folks like to trick 'em out with all sorts of toys, so someone came up with the term "Tacti cool" instead of "tactical"
While it is fun to put rounds downrange rapid fire, I find more gratification in all of 'em going in a tight 'lil group :-)

looks cool! One suggestion is do a faux patina on the bullet using liver of sulfur or other agent, then polish the high spots leaving the darker areas in contrast. adds instant "age" to the solver

It is common to leave a good deal of matrix on on the cabs and can create some striking results. Most folks including myself cut a very high domed cab rather than cabs like we normally cut from other Opals. If oriented correctly, the depth in some of the cabs is nothing short of amazing!
Google "Cantera Opal" for some great examples

First off, misnamed, not a jasper, more of a limestone and not jasper hard. The Texas Devils Toenails takes a way better polish. Indian stuff is to me kind of tough to shine up. Second, there are a lot of grades in this stuff and lots of it is very porous and unsuitable for cabs. If at all possible, I'd suggest not buying it unless you have it in hand. You wet it and if it beads a bit, it's more compact and harder. Some of it just wicks the water right in and that's too porous. I learned this after really being screwed on E-Bay a time or two....Mel Thanks. You put in more pertinent info than I did by just asking for "primo" material. I also have bought some of the soft stuff online that just doesn't polish well.

If I lived closer, there would be winches, comealongs, pry bars, big @$$ hammers and a hookah air set up involved and a small barge towed behind the boat:-)

Charlie Daniels’ Open Letter to America’s Enemies: You See Obama, But You Don’t Know America By Charlie Daniels | February 15, 2016 | 2:31 PM EST
Something never rang true about the apprehension and boarding of two American Naval vessels by the Iranian Navy. Something just didn’t seem right.
These boats were equipped with the kind of space age navigational devices that should have forgone any doubt where they were within a couple of yards.
If one boat became disabled, why didn't the other boat tow it back to safe international waters?
Barring all else, why didn’t the Iranians abide by centuries old maritime tradition to assist a disabled vessel of a nation you're not at war with? We’re not at war with Iran, or are we?
Why did John Kerry make a public statement praising and thanking the Iranians for their humane treatment of our Naval personnel knowing that Iran had boarded our vessel, disarmed the sailors and forced them to kneel with their hands on their heads? Why would he do so after seeing that Iran had photographed these sailors, using the photo as an embarrassing international public relations ploy and showing the world just how spineless the Obama administration is? Just how much humiliation and insult he is willing to take?
Then, during a parade, the Iranians staged a float with Iranians dressed like American sailors on a boat standing in total submission while being laughed at and ridiculed by the people on the street.
This is tantamount to rubbing America's face in a manure pile. It was an attempt to suggest that America is supposedly weak, spineless and totally unable when it comes to protecting itself. It was meant to suggest that America has become a cowering, impotent nation whose president can be pushed around, humiliated, threatened and ridiculed without any threat of retaliation.
Putin did it, China is doing it, and now a third rate Islamic dictatorship ruled by religious fanatics is pushing Obama all over the board for the rest of the world to see just how easy it is. You can bet there will be much more to follow.
John Kerry should resign, because what he did actually gave aid and comfort to a nation that wants to destroy us. His sickening platitudes enabled the Iranians to farther this farce and humiliate this nation even more by releasing photos of one of the American sailors apparently crying.
America's enlistment rates are down, and morale in our military is low. Obama has fired so many of our most experienced officers and reduced the size of our services to the point that should we be required to fight on multiple fronts we would be severely strained to do so.
How does the rest of the world perceive America under Obama?
We're the nation that stood by and didn't lift a finger when the Iranian public was protesting their government. We voiced no support and did not try to help in any significant way, and the protest was soon quelled.
We're the nation that drew red lines in Syria and watched them being crossed without a whimper.
We're the nation that only uttered a few lukewarm words as Putin invaded the Crimea and the Ukraine.
We're the nation that traded five of the world's most dangerous terrorists for one American deserter.
We're the nation that gave away the store to insure that Iran can finance its terrorist attacks and be assured of having a nuclear device in a few years.
We're the nation that lets anybody who wants to walk across our southern border free reign to do so, and we are the nation that provides sanctuary cities to give them refuge.
NO, WE'RE NOT!!
WE'RE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!
And judging us by the weakness and unwillingness of our president and his flower child administration would be a fatal mistake.
A note to our enemies:
You think you know America, but you only see the tiny, inept, incompetent, cowering political tip of a very big, very capable iceberg.
You don't know the Heartland where the people are fiercely independent and willing to defend this nation with their bare hands if that's what it takes.
You don't know the steel workers in Pittsburgh with muscles that could break a man's neck like a twig.
You don't know the swamp folks in Cajun country that can wrestle a full-grown alligator out of the water.
You don't know the mountain folks in Appalachia who can knock a squirrel's eye out from a hundred yards away with a small caliber rifle.
You don't know the farmers, the cowboys, the loggers and the seagoing folks. You don't know the truck drivers, the carpenters, the mountain men who live off the land, the hard rock miners or the small town cops who keep the peace in the rowdy border towns.
No, you don't know America. You've only seen America through the eyes of an Ivy League ideologue. There are no calluses on his hands, no notches on his gun. He is naive enough to believe that people who only understand power can be swayed by political correctness, kindness and acquiescence.
Soon America will have a new leader, and I pray to Almighty God every day that we will choose the right one.
If so, we will begin the long process of rebuilding the World's greatest military, we will level the playing field in international trade and revitalize American industry, we will give our friends reason to trust us again. Our enemies will have reason to fear us again, and our citizens will have reason to believe again.
No, you don't know America, and you don't want to find out the hard way.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.
God Bless America
