All are outstanding, but MY favorite has to be the Biggs in the middle of row #3.

Cabbing and silver fabrication. All that remains is lost wax casting and your path to the dark side is complete.

Good job! When you said one broke I thought the smaller crazy lace would be the most likely candidate- small stone and big vug.

I sell Rio Grande agate for the neighbor kids who have access to a ranch down at Carizzo Springs, TX. Have stuff to break up or trimsaw up for the tumbler and have a good selection of various sizes of rough for sawing. Rio Grandes are mostly moss agate with a lot of different colors and patterns. If you want to see examples I've slabbed, go to the slabs section and I've posted a bunch of pics.....Mel Gonna have to have you talk to those kids for me!

So many dark paths to go down, so little time.....

French "C-rations" used to come with a pack of smokes and small bottle of cognac. Training with the Frogs was a blast. You could even buy beer out in the field. Up until about 1968 we had little mini packs of cigarettes in ours, along with a green "penny pack" of matches.

It may be an old post, but I live in Indiana-the land of limestone, fossils and nothing else.
When I die I want to go THERE!

A new member (babenchek) has posted in threads about knapping and free templates. I think it's a scamming issue so watch out.

Tough call! When looking at the back picture it looks like I can see some dendrites where it is chipped on the right side. This shows potential, but won't know for sure unless it is cut. Let us know how this plays out .

Many years ago an older friend in a local B.A.S.S. club told me he would like to catch a large mess of bluegill for his freezer for the winter. I had an uncle that lived in North Vernon, IN that had a nice little pond on his farm just outside of town. After a quick call to my uncle, we were off to camp out for the night, and to fill a cooler or two. They were biting and we were having a great time. There was a nearby stump that was just the right height for cleaning fish, and after each one of us would catch about a dozen, we'd filet what we caught, and pack them on ice in plastic bags. We even had a hole dug next to the stump for burying the remains. We had one cooler filled, and a pretty good start on the second when another aunt, uncle, a cousin, and my Mom showed up out of the blue from Indianapolis, just for a visit. A few minutes later the aunt and uncle who owned the property showed up. My buddy made a quick trip into town after more bait, and picked up what we needed for a good ol' fashioned fish fry. There were ripe tomatoes and bell peppers (what we old Hoosiers call mangoes) in the garden that were added to the menu along with the fresh fish fried over the campfire and bread and butter. After we were all stuffed, the aunt from Indianapolis said the only thing that could make this more prefect would be a cup of coffee. All I could do was grin and get the large coffee can I brought with me for making hobo coffee. I filled the can 2/3 full of water, put in what I thought was the right amount of coffee, brought it to a boil for a bit, hit it with a splash of cold water, and let it set off the fire for a bit to let the grounds settle. My Mom, the cousin, and the aunts and uncles were surprised, pleased and a little impressed.
At this point in my life, I am the last survivor of that impromptu feast, and as I look back I would have to say that was the best cup of coffee I have ever had.

Every now and then I'll go to Starbucks and get a "C Note"- a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso.
