Decided we had room for a couple more rocks in the yard , so we went lookin . I came up with this one I thought would fit in , weighs in at 44 1/2 pounds . My better half couldn't be outdone so she found this lil one , all of four times bigger than my pebble . After some head scratching , some crowbar work and a bit of back straining , we got it home . Impressed yet ? Thought so . BUT WAIT , it gets better . Sun goes down and the UV comes out and the rocks put on a show . My lil pebble sitting on a bucket , And her rock on the ground , I might shave a bit of the outer skin off to really light them up . Thanks for takin a peak

The image URL seems to get changed to https: when you access the link, and that's not a secure server website (http only) so that may be the issue. Thanks for the help guys. Hi Tim, sorry for the late response and your photo troubles. Yes knave nailed it - it's actually a browser problem as I understand it - Father Google has decided to stop loading photos from non HTTPS url locations. Does this include rockshow as well ?

Thank you all for the B-Day wishes and kind words . Haven't been here for a few days or months , looks like I have a bit of catching up to do . But the rock pile grew a bit with all the social media distancing .

MsAli and NDK , for the record I would like to say it was our pleasure having you both make the long trip and come hang out with us for the day . It was very nice meeting you Ali , and good seeing you again Nate . Both of you are welcome to come back anytime . Hope next time we will have more time and do some riverbank pickin . Looking forward to seeing you both again and my dad loved the buckets Give me a weeks notice and I can get your dad a truck load of buckets . Might even be able to get a few more of those big azz yard rocks , if they are still on the river bank where I left them a year or two ago . Local pickup only .

Yup Rich I think you've piqued my interest. These are some awesome finds and I may need to wander that way in a few weeks! Thanks Nate . Travel is legal for outdoor exercise . Can't say picking rock isn't exercise .

3rd photo. That is very awesome. Jasper and quartz? 4th photo. Basalt with holes? I have a similar one with a large hole that my G-Grandfather found in Rusk County in the late 1800's when he was clearing farm land. It probably was used for tanning hides, as it has a semi-gloss finish. In both the 1970's and more recent, archaeological experts attributed it to that. Your might have been used for something in the past as well. Will PM you photos of my specimen. #3 is a brecciated jasper . #4 is an Omar or Omarolluk , en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omarolluk

Good to here when others fire up their tumblers for the season . Had thoughts of getting my rollers started today . Decent weather though , better to go hunt up another year or 3 worth of rock .
