Well if the autumn winds are like that in Nebraska, I guess I'm glad I'm not there. Nice cab though miket _ Patty

I love it Mike. Looks like a lot of the trees before that last final gust of wind! Thanks, that's what I thought of also! Thanks Ashley! Here's my entry, Autumn in Nebraska. More like late Autumn, or rather my interpretation. Lots of browns and grays... The slab came from rockjunquie and as always I don't know what it is. 🙂 good looking stuff. I think it’s graveyard, but has sheep creek characteristics. I thought Graveyard, too... I agree with Graveyard Point with extra moss characteristics. The first thing I thought of was what happens when fields are being plowed on a gray, windy day. Nice cab miket Thanks Beth! I probably could have used it in last month's contest. 🙂 Well if the autumn winds are like that in Nebraska, I guess I'm glad I'm not there. Nice cab though miket _ Patty They usually are, thank you Patty!

I think it’s graveyard, but has sheep creek characteristics. This ^^ I would lean towards sheep creek tho because it's so distinctive. Beautiful cabochon miket good job! I love the design capture. Forgive me for not following your progress on the new machine recently but is it safe to assume that this is miket's talents blossoming on the spinning wheels?

miket - Hey way to go!! And by that I mean it two-fold...way to go on the cab this month...and way to go for getting us back on track! LOL There are FAR more experts on here than me...but that looks like Sheep Creek to me due to the specific color tones of the plumes...where it has that darker brown/black bordering the cream colored plume. I think the slab itself looks very much like Sheep Creek...but I haven't been real successful this week with some of my other ID guesses! LOL

Sheep Creek it is, then- I have to trust the experts! I don't know about blossoming, Tommy, but yeah it's on the cabber. Still trying to get the shine I want, though! 😁 miket - Hey way to go!! I'm thinking you guys are right on this, but I also thought Graveyard. My ID skills suuuuuuuck! 🤣

In September I had been discussing this Belvadee jasper slab with a potential Wisconsin customer, but he couldn't decide what specific area he wanted cabbed. So I finally decided to cab what I wanted, and then changed it from an oval to an ovoid shape.

Okay...I'm not waiting until the last minute this month! LOL - This material is a derivation of Stone Canyon Brecciated Jasper. I got this from stephan quite some time ago and he had named this material "Autumn Leaves". So, I thought it was pretty apropos for the contest as it looks like a bunch of Autumn leaves to me! Yep… that’s killer!

miket what a wonderful autumn piece! To me it is someone shaking a bundle of hay and there are some scattered pale yellow tiny pieces in the air...

opalpyrexia love the fall colors! The bright red in contrast makes one feel that the brightness won't last long in a bleak autumn morning after some rain.

jasoninsd I get the autumn leaves! It's like rock hounding that you keep looking down searching for a perfect autumn leaf on the ground.

I like the dome you did on that one - looks nice.
I haven't intentionally made one like that - need to try !

Thanks Patty! I think that template was intended for a 4" wheel, as there's no way I can get that kind of a curve with my 6" wheel! LOL
