eggs from my bed suffer severely from undercutting. The matrix is extremely soft. In the future, all cabs cut from slabs will be stabilized in cactus juice in a vacuum chamber. I’ve posted a few of my eggs over in the thunderegg Thursday thread. I’ll post more in there and tag you. I saw the pictures of the thunderegg cuts. They are amazing! I’ll go back through, see what I posted, then upload some new pics. Cool thing about the bed is that it has a high concentration of plume. Plus eggs inside eggs which makes a cool effect.

realrockhound I'll be interested in your adventures in stabilizing, all I know for sure is that opticon is pretty much worthless.

Some beautiful cabs entered! I didn't think I would have any time for cab making. I was able to get on the grinder last night for the first time in a couple of weeks. I ground a beautiful fall cab with a preform of Teepee agate that jasoninsd was generous enough to send to me. It came out great and I think it has a great representation of fall colors. Then I remembered not only do I not have any rough or slab, I didn't even take a pic of the preform before I started grinding! I'll be ready for next comp. Good luck to all who entered!

I don't know rockbrain , sounds like you could blame it on jasoninsd that you have no slab photo, and slide it in. In my opinion the slab requirement is really just to prove you made the cab and didn't just come across it.
But I guess it's not my decision - but I'd vote for you to submit it.
The more the merrier .

I'll vouch for ya! I did send you some performs this month...so my vote would also be for you to slide it is as an entry. If someone really wants a picture of a slab...they can go to the "Teepee Canyon Agate" thread...there's lots of pics of slabs in that thread! LOL Glad to hear you got a chance to grind on one of those!!

Didn’t realize we had that many entries. It honestly felt like half of that. Should be a good contest.

Good looking lot of cabs. Lots of variety. I think we’ll see some head to head battles.

Tommy the photos have disappeared! Sometimes it’ll randomly do that if you’re trying to view through mobile. If you hop on your desktop, images appear.

Congrats realrockhound on the very first three-peat this contest has seen! It was a beautiful cab and well deserving of a decisive win!
