liveoak the saw is still running. Cutting T-eggs is a lot like Forrest Gumps box-o-chocolates and I've been biting into entirely too many of the gross "fruit of questionable origin" ones in my search for different. 30 days has September, april june and... EEK!

You’ve made it pretty clear that you feel like your at a competitive disadvantage with this months theme, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to take shots at other members for sharing material, having more options than you, or any other reason that would discourage anyone from using the best possible material available to them. Actually that's not what I said at all - what I said & meant, some what teasingly, is that with days left till the end of the month, I wondered if you'd dig out yet a different cab & change entries again. It had NOTHING to do with anyone else sending you stuff.
Me saying I didn't want to beg borrow or steal slabs from other members - is just me, it has nothing to do with how anyone gets their material.
It's just ME, and I said that, so I'm not sure I understand where you're coming from with that.
In the end I got lucky while searching for Christmas present ideas & found a thunderegg in my stock after all. If I hadn't found that, I wouldn't have entered.
Patty... hoping the good natured cab contest stays that way.

I didn't read any malice in that comment either, and I am more prone than many to take an innocent comment the wrong way.
I think I might start an "also rans" thread when we're past the entry period, lots of T-egg stuff I've cut in recent weeks worthy of discussion, and I'm sure others have stuff that falls into the category but not entered.

He say it was crunchy on the outside & chewy in the middle .  What flavor do you have ?

FCC Fun Cab Contest Sure, we need some rules to make the competitive side of it as fair as a peoples choice can be, but at the end of it all we're still friends. Waiting till after the voting sounds good, besides, for me it will be the only cab I make in November, as soon as I get to it. |

I'm not sure if I'll come up with an entry or not. Funny because 2 of my recent entries have been thunder eggs. I've been cutting but need to dig in my box a little more see if I have anything

When it goes into the "voting" part of the contest, Tommy hides all the comments that have been made in the thread...so in theory, it makes the entries "anonymous". However, I think most people kind of remember who made which cabs! (Except for Chad apparently! LOL) |

Well I wonder if all the RTH members look at the cab contest while it's going on. I mean a rock tumbler (except Lumberlegs of course) might not have interest in it. So Tommy hiding it all is supposed to make it anonymous (or at least somewhat).
When you look that many contests have around 50 people that might vote - there's not 50 people entering, and there may or may not be 50 people actually following the contest. I'm sure just some of them tune in to vote on their idea of art.

I get a rough idea who is who based on the cab and the more the picture tbh, rarely does it sway my vote unless some new cab maker comes out swinging.
I follow the whole forum at a glance and don't really focus in on tumbles vs cab posts
The winner is usually a standout for a reason

What that would do is to take the conversation out of it & that's part of what makes it interesting. It would make it more of a blind choice, but not as interesting I would think.

I agree. I’ve thought of the anonymous entry option as well but then we lose the entire months worth of chit-chat and also peoples stories about making the cab, issues they had, etc. I don’t think anonymity is more important than that and believe most people vote for the cab not the person.
