Tweetie, I just saw your question (good thing this thread came up again). The name that would always get questioned was "Purple Rooster"

I do a little gold panning, besides cutting agate slabs ---would love to go to alaska with a dog sled to pan but only have one 95# malamute (who thinks he is human) so I took his name "snowdog" here's his pic

Since my bf & I were going to join this board at the same time, I thought I'd try to think of a "couples" name that related to this board. The only ones I could think of at the time was "Pebbles & BamBam". I'm not sure if we really resemble them in "real life", although BamBam does like to break things ( ooops, I mean break rocks ) and I, Pebbles, am the "cute" one *lol* ( don't have red hair, though) !!!

I decided to go with "LCARS". This really has nothing to do with rocks. It stands for: Library Computer Access & Retrieval System" This is the 24th century computer interface system used by Starfleet vessels & installations in the Next Generation, DS9 & Voyager series of Star Trek. I am personally fascinated with the work of Michael Okuda, who designed the graphics & layouts of all the LCARS systems for all the new Star Trek series. My dream is that someday in my lifetime, computers will actually be as good looking, functional & hassle free as they are proposed to be in the 24th century. Right now, computers always seem to be very patronizing, cumbersome & ineffective in fulfilling the full potential of human creativity. I blame Microsoft for chastising the raw functionality of modern computers & for patronizing computer users with it's gimmicky software that severely limits your ability to utilize a computers power by forcing you to run inferior operating system & software applications. To me, the LCARS operating system represents the idealized view of computers as a powerfull tool for human advancement instead of the troublesome device of today that nobody can seem to figure out how to get anything done with... And it looks really sweet even in the background of a shot when the camera is focussed on the actors! ;D

My name is Dan and I am 5th generation Texan. when I was a Kid my Dad used to call me Dan-el like Daniel Boone pronounced Dan-L. When I went online I wanted to use that but so mane DanL's were out there that I had to add something to get an address. You may sometimes see it as Dan El as well. Superman fans will understand why..LOL... Soooooo TexDanL.
Xenaswolf...The Wolf is my Totum Guide as well so all of my avatars are wolves.

I am so glad someone resurrected this thread! My husband and I are planning to open a business soon and we spent quite awhile choosing the name which will be Pine Mountain Traders, I had to drop the "s" on the end to fit this board's parameters. "Pine Mountain" is where we have our other home and will eventually live fulltime. "Traders" hopefully evokes the picture I want folks to have in their heads when they think about our store. Kind of rustic, related to the outdoors, stuff like that...

When I started my native plant landscape design and nursery business a few years ago I wanted something that would evoke both the natural and ornamental worlds of gardening, so I chose Green Man Gardens as my company name. Somehow or other on the lists I participated in, this inevtitably lead to people asking me if I was "greenman". It kinda stuck. Unfortunately, the regular spelling is usually taken, so I have gotten into the habit of adding the extra 'n' at the end. Still fits just as well, lol.

Cool stories. My name (Condor) comes from the agate itself. Condor agates which come from Argentina are among my favorites of all. I have a few and they are just incredible. The display I saw last year at the Tucson Gem and Mineral show just blew me away. And there you have it.
