Had a lot of fun reading this thread.
My name is from Silver Heights Cherry Orchard which was the name of our property originally(1900's to 1960's). There were 300 cherry trees here before little cherry disease came along and wiped them all out. The name must have come from our view as we are right on a cliff overlooking the Kootenay Lake. I also had a business that I called "Silver Heights Rock 'n Gems". So I am silverheights.
69beeper: My son-in-law raced a 69 Road Runner (that he restored from scratch) until a last year when he fixed up another mopar to race. The name ecapes me right now but it's a dodge!! He is running in the 11's but is trying to get it down to the high 9's.

Mine is from a Flintstone's character. I haven't seen that show since the 70's but that name stuck for some reason.

The first rock I put in my tumbler was a Fire Agate I found and I really like all the different agates. I'm looking for all different kinds for my collection - ie.- chasing after them.

One of my other hobbies for the last few years has been rebuilding a 1960 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, hence my user name KG1960. I first used this name on an air-cooled VW forum and now I use it everywhere. That way I only have to remember one name (and one password). Real name, Wayne

This has been a really fun thread to read. The chinook is from being a chinook helicopter mechanic for awhile. The 203 is my badge number, I'm a cop. Grew up a daddy's girl (he was a cop too), just never was the type to worry about make up or what outfit to where, always was outside fishing or helping dad work on cars. So I guess grew up a tomboy. One of t hose girls that can get dirty looking for rocks or clean up........when it's needed

Wow! All these stories! It's like....like.....The Naked City! My screen name has always been jrtrio. Either with a capital J or not. It stands for The Joe Reichard Trio hence the J.R.Trio...jrtrio. And to explain it a little further, I played guitar and sang lead vocals and my partner Tony played anything else that you put in front of him plus sang harmonies. The third person of the Trio was a pure "Babe Magnet". No matter where we went the younger ladies were just drawn to him. I think it's because this guy just knows how things really work and they gravitated toward him. It wasn't surprising at all to come back from a break and see 2 or 3 girls talking and giggling around him. His name is Al. On our flyer you'll see the three of us and a sexy lady friend of Al's. Here's how it looked in 1997 pre first surgery. Plus I just saw Snowdogs pic of his little pup and I thought maybe he'd like to see my little guy. His name is Cody, short for J&T's Kodiak. He too thinks he's human. Amazing bread. He's my second. Sold my first Mal when we moved from Missouri to North Carolina. Couldn't bring a dog with us at that time. But, she was a puller and got to get on a team as lead. She never backed down from anything or anyone. Matter of fact I came home one afternoon to find that she had our neighbor up on the top of his car! He hadn't met her yet and didn't know what lovable dogs they are and all he saw was a 100# dog coming his way and up he went! Cody is a little bigger at 112# Got him on a little diet and exercise program! See he is human! Here's a thumbnail.

Well, I was born in Kansas. Then we moved. A lot. Then at the end of high school, my dad decided the twenty years he had given the Army was enough...and he retired to Kansas. Turns out, if you're born in Kansas, they consider you a resident no matter where you've lived since.
So technically, although I only lived in Kansas for a combined 6 1/2 years - never longer than three years at one time, according to the state I will always be a Kansan. I first used this logon when I moved to Charlottesville for my MA. I was a tiny bit homesick when I joined another forum, and it's stuck with me ever since.

Well, when I found this forum, I just made up a quick name. Rockhound without the vowels and my last initial. Didn't know you could change screenames. I though about using my eBay name, Foxton. It came from being a fan of anthropomorphic comics back in the 80's and early 90's. That's animals with human characteristics. An artist friend even did a pic for me of Foxton. Guess you could call him a "rockfox".

I drag race ATV's and my vehicle is a Yamaha Raptor, bored and built to 686cc's. Not real creative but it works

It all got started with the puppyhouse corporation. Which also sometimes was a nation that would fight against another nation that was usually called sh**house, on some kind of primitive computer game. With a name like puppyhouse you always knew who the good guys were.

Zotika is actually my home e-mail. When my wife and I started to live together we thought that we should have our mutual e-mail. So this zotika is composite of our kids nick names Zoka (from my first name Zoran) and Tika (from Tijana – sounds like Tiyana). So that sounded something like exotica and we liked it. Zotika

I was a biology major for the first three years in college - then switched to the "dark side" engineering. All things outdoors are my love - engineering pays the bills. All my hobbies an non-work activities revolve around the outdoors. Crotalus is the genus of rattlesnakes in North America - and I thought it had a nice ring to it. I have used it for a user name at work for several years now - and 10 characters are required there- thus Crotalus23 was born.

Infight kennels is where I got both my German Shepherds from. I've used the name for other things, so it just gets to be habit to use it. The 22 is just tacked on because sometimes inflight is already taken.

Mine is from my website name. PAG = Pennsylvania German, Stones = Gravestones. Spent about 4 years doing intensive research on 17th and early 18th century Pennsylvania German gravestone symbols and published my research and 500+ photos on the web.
Got into tumbling about 8 months ago and have put my gravestone studies on hold. I found with my new, very stressful, job, I had the energy to do rocks but not research. Luckily the gravestones have been there for a couple of hundred years so they'll be there when I can get back to them.
For now though looks like it is going to be rocks for a long, long time.

Mine is my DH's nickname for me. He says I come on like a lion, but am really a mushball--other people only see the fierce side. Hmmm, I dunno...
but I like the nickname.
