Yes, well I posted that before your question about the vug appeared. I was responding to your comment about "edge" of wheel, which sounded like you were roughing out using the edge of a flat wheel. I see now you meant "face" or "profile" of the wheel.
As for the vug, I would not put epoxy. It will lose a lot of bang. I would fill the vug with wax to keep grit out when vibe tumbling. Then I would boil the stone to get out the wax

Then I would boil the stone to get out the wax After getting the "wearable" to a certain mm (using calipers and a convex wheel) I then have to use the sides of the wheels. It can be done with the side of the wheel altogether but the convex does help. What kind of wax? That's a good idea. I have a huge chunk of bees wax, would that be suitable and should I melt/pour/let harden and then proceed with my cabbing? deb193reduxfantastic5 those magnets would take away from wearing my rocks.

By the time it cools it should be hard enough. Beeswax sounds good. The key here is that grit removes hard stuff. I was told it had little effect on soft wax, but I have not tried it. Seems logical.
I would cab the shape first to avoid getting wax in you wheels. When it is ready for the Lot-O, add the wax.

Could you glue a thin slice of rock onto the magnetic plugs?
This whole piercing thing.....
The male rockhounds around here pierce a cab or such, thread a leather thong through it and wear as a pendant.

Where I used to work, we had a Thurs. night bowler who made sure everyone at work heard all about his game first thing Friday morning. Plugs like Rob's got a new function and a new name: B.S. filters.

Fill bug vug with hot glue. Rubbing alcohol removes.
ETA - corrected bug to vug - effing iPad and it's overly aggressive spelling corrector.

I know, you meant VUG. Couldn't resist
Yeah, Jimi, hot glue should hold it intact so you can work it. Understand it's cold down in 'Bama right now, so glad I don't live there now. Stay warm!!

Snow at broseph82 residence. How much ? I know your kids made the snowman. It's as big as an iceberg. Going to take 3 months to melt.

I think you are referring to the snow man. First thing I thought when looking at your kid's snow man, but did want to make light of the issue. Studs like us have bigger, uh, snow men than that. LOL

broseph82 Maybe you shouldn't take up stone carving if you plan to sell any of them. JMHO Great snow weenie though. Born and raised in the south right?

Saw it on IG I hate to say this, but there is a section of the Withlacoochee River covered in large coral heads that are a perfect color match for the above mentioned. I saw an oversea site on Aliexpress that specializes in such. It has passed my mind to send samples to them. Wondering how much money could be made with a perfect color reproduction. Uh, the sex market is lucrative...
