Wow, those ears alone can do a lot of damage if needed. Looking great. The rest will be also metal? Or are you going for stone?

Superb work! I'm trying to decide what type of stone/stones I would use. Can't wait to see what you pick.

This way I ground the bolsters up to about one millimeter from the final contour, and only after this I started to use the files. But I agree, even so there was a lot of filing to be done. Adrian

Great thinking, great effort, great results!..............................MrP

Hello, again! I made some progress on the handle area. It could not seem very much, because it's a very detailed work to fit all the pieces together and to smooth all the surfaces. Besides, a cold kept me away from working these days and it still does. Anyway, here's what I've done since the previous update. Firstly I made the file work on the spine of the handle. Marking the spine (notice the "training" filework on the edge of the sheet in the left of the photo: Then, cutting the shapes with a round file: After finishing the filework, I riveted all the bolsters: Then, there was a lot of detailed work I was talking about before (fitting the surfaces to each other, polishing, etc). Some areas are close to ready, but there still are surfaces to be smoothed and polished. Thank you for looking, Adrian

geez Adrian that intenseness' waviness of the mane spine makes a grown man cry joyous tears where did that design come from ? had you seen it before? take care ! Ed Ed, once you start "diggin' " about file work, you realize how many patterns can be done. Some very simple, some intriguingly complicated and spectacular. This one is maybe not the simplest pattern, but not very complicated and also one of the most common: vine filework. Just image google those two words and a bunch of pictures with this pattern would pop out. Then remove the "vine" word and let filework alone, and enjoy the variety and imagination. Adrian

The detail on that piece is just incredible. I'm speechless. Just too good.
BTW how sharp are the horse's ears?
