Off the chart work. Kids fighting over that one. Fantabolous work, showing what ingenuity and real patience can achieve. And James, there are quite a few pieces that they will fight over......

In your native language does Ida translate to "gem"? Cant wait to see the sculpture. No, Scott. Where did this idea come from?

Hello, friends! I've done it! Here are some pics taken during the work at the support. I installed a vice in the yard, close to the fence (held by the fence, in fact). The good weather allowed me to do most of the work here: Here is the work in progress at the filework - it's the same pattern as the one on the handle: These are all the pieces that would compose the knife's support: Starting to put the pieces together: And here's the support, ready (the base stone is a pet wood from Lesvos Island): And this is how the knife stands on the support for display: Thank you all for looking. It's been a pleasure not only to work at this knife, but also to share my work with all of you here. Adrian

Hardened and sharp
Or
Not
That is both beautiful and able to end a home invasion quite nicely.
Thanks for the ride along.

A true piece of hand crafted art Adrian!!! It has been mentioned that your work will be handed down for generations to come but I think they all belong in a museum so many, many people can see your work!
Is the knife "clamped" in the stand or did you make the knife and stand so the knife is balanced to sit there? It was nice of Ina to "donate" the wood for the stand! LOL My wife (Nancy) donates kitchen ware to me but so far she is unaware of it! LOL When she goes out I go on a "hunt" to see what's good up there! LOL
I've said it before but you ARE an amazing man Adrian!!!! Thank you for sharing your work!It gives me inspiration to try a little harder!

What can I say that hasn't been said? You have created a true work of art! It's wonderful in every way. I love the stand- it's icing on the cake. In case you didn't already know, you are a very talented person.

The knife isn't clamped at all, it can be taken and then put back and it has a very good balance, due to the S shape of the front bolster (which fits the S shape on the upper side of the stand. I would't want to be in your shoes when Mrs Nancy would figure out about all the missing items in her kitchen. What can I say that hasn't been said? You have created a true work of art! It's wonderful in every way. I love the stand- it's icing on the cake. In case you didn't already know, you are a very talented person. Tela, thank you very much. Coming from an artist like you, this means a lot. Adrian
