You are ignoring me aren't you? Or did your keyboard freeze up? Huh? Sent James a PM busting him on how cold it is up in Atlanta. Not that it's not cold here too. 58° is way no good in Florida.

Did some tumbler checking on and clean outs a couple days ago. I have five 15 lb tumblers rolling right now! One of the rocks from our Zapata trip to hold ya'll over. This batch moved from 120/220 to 320 grit. A few of the rocks have small divots in them that I can live with.

It fits nicely in the hand. About the size of a baseball but not as round.
I don't do small tumbles.
Have a 15 lb barrel running right now with one rock in it. May be too big to tumble in a 15lb barrel, but I'm sure trying!

That's a beauty captbob. where'd that orange bucket come from ?
Climbed out of my truck December in north New Mexico. Flat area but at like 5000 feet altitude. wind liked to snapped the door off the hinges. By the time I put 15 gallons of gas in truck I was frost bit. 20F wind at 50 mph, nothing to compare to.

The absolute best part about this trip was waving bye bye to captbob and out staying him 2 weeks. Oh did he cry and whine. And finds out after coming home his wife experienced new-found-peace and wanted him to stay longer lol. Did I rub it in ? Damn right. I had my way with captbob. He was in great pain having left early. Poor Bob.

LOL
And is he STILL rubbing it in? Damn right! pfffffft <- raspberry noise
I was NOT happy leaving. That trip was the best time I had had in a couple years. May go back someday. Still have a 30 gal garbage can full of rocks from there to play with though. No hurry.
Jim was as fun as those that haven't met him might imagine. Laid back southern boy and wiling to share his rock knowledge with a first time hounder. Good times were had, certainly hated to go.
Wife unit sure didn't mind my absence. Did mind having to miss work every morning to stay home to take care of the critters. She was well paid to do so and still bitched about it. Gotta schedule rock hunting trips around her schedule.
If/when I do get the chance to hit the road for a couple weeks again, I may pick a different location just for different rocks. Maybe once Trump has the border secured, a trip further west up the Rio Grande may be the ticket. Zapata was a fun place though and there is no shortage of rocks to be had. (figuring out which ones are the keepers was a bit of a learning curve!) Hounding the Mexican side of that river would be the Golden Ticket, but I don't see that happening with all that cartel crap going on with no end in sight. Nice rocks, but not worth dying or being kidnapped (same thing) for!
Thanks for letting me tag along Jim, I had a blast!

Totally my pleasure. No amateur collector in Bob. He cleaned out the treasures, don't go back behind him. Great trip, great company great rocks.

That agate on the right looks like speckled chalcedony, almost like the nodules you can find here in southern KY locally. Great stuff to find out there in that alien desert landscape.
