They should have sent you a pre-paid shipping label.

I have 4 Lotos. One in great shape. One that the motor needs a hand start every now and then. One that runs but the bearing is shot and the shaft rides on the housing and chatters. One with a broken frame. Warranty with Tom sucks rotten eggs. Why do I keep buying them? Because you can't beat the Loto shine and versatility! Listen it's a machine built with a toilet plunge as the basis and it vibrates like crazy. No metal can stand that stress of vibration for long.

So I received the new motor yesterday and we're back in business. Seeing and hearing the new motor in operation made me realize that the first motor had arrived damaged. This new one is a lot tighter and quieter.

They should have sent you a pre-paid shipping label. I hear ya *but* they deviated from the stated warranty and took care of me so I'm fine with how it went down.

This new one is a lot tighter and quieter. A manufacturer standing behind their product, even though technically they didn't have to, puts them in a very positive light in my mind. Al

I purchased a Lot-O from the Rock Shed on September 3, 2020 and it was delivered on September 9, 2020. I have used it for polish three times and the same thing happened to me yesterday! I called Belt Inc. and I am still under the warranty but they want me to ship the motor back! Am I out of line if I call them back and ask for a pre paid shipping label?

Call Belt back and see if they'll send one to you. The worst they can say is "no," and at that point, you'll just have to figure out how the discussion continues. Let us know what happens.

I called back and they are having someone call me back. She said they test all the motors before they leave but I told her the lady I talked to this morning said they had a bad batch of motors recently. I told them I paid to have it shipped to me when I purchased it from the Rock Shed and as the lady this morning stated "You had a bad batch of motors". So I believe Mark from Belt Inc. will be calling me back. She said he is really busy today so I may not hear from him until tomorrow. lol I will update as soon as I hear back. Frustrated because I had such good results with the polish. I love my Lortone 33B but the polish with the vibe was outstanding! UGH, now I wait.

If they give you the "run-around" go ahead and contact Shawn at The Rock Shed. He, as a dealer, has a lot more influence when it comes to speaking with the manufacturer. Good luck to ya

Well Tom called me back from Belts Inc. He said it is their policy to charge shipping. He said I could lower the shipping charge if I cut the cord and send it with a picture of the motor with the model and serial number. I asked If I could buy a motor right now with my credit card so he could send it out today and then when he received my motor next week he could give me credit. He said nope but I thought it was worth a try because I have some rocks sitting in water waiting to go in polish and I know with the Holiday things will be delayed. You would think this hobby would have taught me more patience! Lol

I just had this happen to mine today. They said they will replace it (it has only been running a few weeks and I purchased it exactly 60 days ago). However, they told me I have to send the motor back and I can’t figure out how to take the fans off without breaking them. Allen wrench? Does anyone know how the fans detach so I can take the motor out?

I'm new to this site, and wanted to share my fix for the Lot-O problem. The issue is the spring washer one one side of the motor. It is easy to take apart, just 4 clips. Do this under a towel so you don't lose the clips if they fly. Pull the armature out and clean up the bearing. Replace the broken spring washer with replacement from Grainger. Dis Spring, Steel, I.D. 0.453in. It is a pack of 10. Grainger item number is 22RK17 $17 ( not including shipping because I picked it up. I also put a little lube in there on that spring washer, just some ball joint lube from the garage. Been working for days now

I am in the polish stage right now. Thinking I will take it apart after this, and see how the motor looks on the inside.
