Mid 70's, RickB ? Wanna trade? I've always thought there should be a thumbs DOWN choice. No thanks

miket Oohh, snow day! Love it. We’ve already had a few like that here ourselves. Fun to build a fire (or turn on the gas one in our case 🤨) and break out the hot cocoa. 😊

Barn was shored up yesterday by someone who is very familiar with 1900 construction methods. He thinks the barn was actually built in the 1800's. Larry was very good at explaining things to me and did an excellent job. Bonus was that his helper appeared to be in his 20's. He was very interested in the barn construction and impressed by the old, log beams. Asked lots of questions. Larry said to let him know if anything else happened and he would come back. He used some of my 2 x 4 stash for the repairs.

I would have given you that look, too. Poor kid was probably mortified. Bad, Jason. It wasn't loud enough for the kid to hear!! (But apparently it was loud enough for my wife to hear, who was sitting right next to me! It's not the first time I've found humor where others apparently didn't - and most likely not the last time! LOL ) You know I was just messing with you.
My son, when he was in kindergarten or first grade, had a similar thing happen. My son was really small for his age. He had to wear a sign around his neck that hung down pretty low. It was an "H" (for "Health"). The kids held hands and approached the stage. My son had his sign on backwards and because he was so small, he was literally dragged onto the stage by the other bigger kids. That was bad enough, but once he got to the mic to say, "Good health habits we learn along the way", he was BELOW the podium. You couldn't see a single hair on his head or hear him. The entire audience laughed and I giggled, too. He was OK with it all, though. He was a bit of a class clown. I have a picture of this somewhere.

Well I out to correct that oversight ha Mandy instinctively knows Mom was telling me that they go to the zoo quite often So hopefully I'll see them again & I can share the picture with them!

I live close, it affords me some sociability , lots of things to explore, and exercise Geology, plants, animules All fabulous. I been there 40 times & haven’t covered the whole park, yet Plus the animals are getting tired of seeing me! They wonder who really in the Z ? Ja ja Along with the Zoo my other cultural favorite is the library! I snapped this ELF picture w/ you in mind Tanks!! o as addendum I haven't spotted the Sumatra Turtle in the Nyla space yet

Annual cookie marathon with my daughter and grandson. The circa 2002 cookie press was not working well, so I pulled out my mom’s 1960’s Mirro cookie press. It worked great. We also used some cookie cutters from my childhood. I think these are from the 1950’s to 1960’s. When the gingerbread dough had too much flour in it from rolling, my daughter used the last of it to make some Christmas tree ornaments. AJ is the King of Sprinkles. We didn’t have time to decorate all of them, but thought some might enjoy seeing. My daughter decorated more last night. Cookies made were traditional sugar cookies, stained glass cookies, spritz and my daughters gingerbread cookie recipe. The stained glass cookies have raspberry preserves and orange marmalade in them. The gingerbreead ones are awesome. Imagine a texture half way between a cookie and a brownie.

I think one of my sisters has my mom's old one. The plastic ones are pretty worthless. Any chance your daughter would be will to share her gingerbread recipe?
