Decided to make this section just petrified wood. It was mostly just sitting in bags in the garage so I figured I might as well enjoy it. As you can see there's not quite enough to cover the fabric- guess I'll have to go hounding next weekend! 😃

Yep, she's maybe 14" plus long ... not counting that tail... those are 36" culvert tiles.

Mowed a patch of red clover gone to seed grown inside the tall green grass. That tall green grass is napier grass, an experimental planting for the heck of it. It is said to be a great feed grass for cows, goats and similar; higher in protein than most grasses so they say. It sure grows fast, almost 5 feet in just 9 weeks.

Those snappers are nothing to mess with. Lived in FL for a long time, seen my fair share. Have them around here, too. Scary!

I've moved them out of the roadway a few times when they were trying to cross that were very large. You could lose a finger if they got you.

Some years ago, we were driving through the historical park at Yorktown when we rounded a corner to be met with a HUGE snapper. We had a great big old wagon with the kids piled in. We went over the snapper as the only real choice we had. His shell went fom wheel to wheel across and his top hit the underside of the car. We pulled away a safe distance and stopped. A quick check and he was fine. But, man, did he look prehistoric and mean!!

jamesp But, not as ornery as my wild hogs. My bears are OK... they are just constantly trying to get in the house.

Some of it given to me by one of my sons- like that big hunk in the back right corner.
