A few photos from today. Walked out the door this morning to the smell of pine tree from all of the broken branches. These were taken in and around my neighborhood in Columbia SC. Our power is still not on yet and it's been off since about 4:30 this morning. Have not seen any power company trucks or crews with chainsaws around here yet. 12 1/2" of rain total. PS: It's ok to throw a like on this post for the photo efforts

Goodness! Looks like y'all got slammed. I'm so glad you all are ok. I don't know how you got more than St Mary's did. What a strange storm.

Spider Patrol 9/27/2024 It's a good thing I inspected the shower stall before the Old Lady crawled in there naked...

Two full days and counting with no power except what I'm getting from my generator. Took a photo this morning of a crew taking down or straightening a leaning "76" sign.

I hope you get it back soon. Do you have a freezer?
After one hurricane, we were out 10 miserable days. It always a steam bath after a hurricane. As a result, I have numerous battery fans. I will NOT do that again.
Recently got this My nephew said he got 8 hours on high. It really blows, too.

Tela, I'm powering two freezers a fridge and TV. Been using the propane camp stove and charcoal grill outside for cooking so it doesn't get too warm inside. Talked to some friends this morning. Out of five, two have power back. One had two oaks come down, one on his house. Another friend has a pecan tree that has now bent way over and is touching the power lines. It will have to be cut down. My brother doesn't have power and borrowed a generator Wife was having trouble online trying to pay our electric bill. I told her "What are they going to do if you don't pay the bill, cut off the power?" I wonder how the folks with EV's are doing?

What kind of knarly tree is that? Honey Locust tree at one of the kids' house. I don't really like them, they have thorny branches!

Thanks Patty! The tree is pretty nice to look at, but I learned the hard way last year that you want to be very careful when picking up downed limbs. 😬

Stone inspector on the Genie... I had to rescue him/her from the water tray later, decided maybe it needed some water, put a drop on the rim, and it went over and took it right down. Then I realized all that silica was probably going to kill it, mercies of the wicked and all... I think it approved...

Helene, the gift that keeps on giving. Woke up to a loud crashing sound outside around 5:30am. Went out with a flashlight and found that my neighbor's storm weakened Bradford Pear tree had split and fallen on the front of our camper. I've already cut the branches off it and see minimal damage. Texted the neighbor as he went to a friends house that had power. He said he was sorry and asked if the power was back on yet. Third day without power. ***likes are ok*** Edit: Should I unplug a freezer to power up a rock saw? s
