I bought a tile saw to cut rocks and stone. Have to get a couple blades yet so likely this weekend before I do anything.
Been lazy lately, still have two 5 gallon buckets of prairie agates and rocks from the Fairburn area grasslands over the last two years to process.

If you're cutting Prairie Agates, you're gonna definitely need a COUPLE blades! LOL - They're the worst for wearing out my blades quickly! LOL

My favorite from yesterday. Muted colors and plenty of fractures but it's a pretty chunk. Another 10 days or so will pull my first batch out of the new 3# which is all small tepee stuff.

Tim, that is a SICK specimen! That is flat out awesome!! I love that massive druzy pocket!! Thanks Jason! The colors are so muted it's an easy piece to overlook until you focus on it. This is from what i've started thinking of as yellow hill and usually the yellows up there are YELLOW

My tepee tumbles got delayed, now hoping to pull them next weekend. Dropped the batch doing cleanout and several that looked good now have chips and fractures, whether from my fumble fingers or tumbling technique I do not know.
Speaking of abject failure:
*edit: added horror music.

This one is for jasoninsd , I was first one into a rock sale and 1st to dig through a tub of rock and I pulled out this nodule looking thing and the owner said, that's Teepee Canyon and $8 a pound you can't go wrong. I put it in my little pile and then found the other half. Not the best specimen I know, but I had to have it. There was barely anything in the second half, but I'm going to see what I can get out of it. I epoxied the center vug, sorry, I didn't know what would happen if I didn't.

I think that was more than a hear line fracture.

You got a fantastic polish on that cab!! Way to go!! I've noticed that quartz area hates the wheels. I have had numerous pieces where the wheels "pull" pieces of the quartz out of the piece. I don't know how else to describe it. It doesn't seem to have a strong "bond". I never considered epoxy. Smart idea!

Broke it, glued it, cabbed it. Far from perfect but whatever. It has a vug of kinda cruddy looking tan calcite (i think) crystals that i may clean out of there.

I like the colors in that one! How are you going to clean out the vug?

I like the colors in that one! How are you going to clean out the vug? Yeah good question. It was very full of the tan crystal before i put it to the wheels and many came loose and fell out then. Might try digging them out manually. Also considering an acid bath but not sure the glue would appreciate that. This piece is turning into a "things you should know better than to try" project so i'll keep trying stuff until i know better.

Nasty reflections in the photo but hey no fractures. Little fiery red one. Nope. When they polish as freakin' amazingly as this one did, the reflections aren't "nasty"! LOL I know you meant for pictures purposes! LOL I really like this one Tim! Great job!!
