Here's my entry. Thunder egg? Came in a mix box from roy a while back. Wasn't sure I'd get one done this time around! Favorite winter memory: getting pulled being a 4 wheeler on a sled as a kid trying to tip my brother over. What a blast. hot dam nice work looks like a agate from mexico next to the cathedral claim called ghost

Here's mine. Grave Yard Point Stinking Water Plume agate with a botryoidal edge. The cab measures approximately 45mm x 25mm. It is an extremely low dome (maybe the lowest I've done without it being a buff top). There are some tiny druzy pockets on the surface, but that's the nature of the beast. Finished cab: Slabette with the preform on it: Natural edge: Backlit: Botryoidal girdle side showing polish: Solid girdle side: My favorite winter memory is sliding down the snow drifts off the roof of my grandma's garage during the blizzard of '67 in Chicago.

Great entry hummingbirdstones! That graveyard point looks great with a natural edge. This contest is a good one. I can't wait for the end of the month.

Gorgeous cab Robin! hummingbirdstones Just out of curiosity are you certain that it's GYP? When they are pure white plumes like that I tend to think of Stinking Water Creek.

We got a bunch of stuff from a friend who was moving to Texas a few years ago and none of it was labeled, so if you think it's Stinking Water instead of GYP, I will edit my post. Thanks for the heads up, Tommy!

I love that botryoidal edge, but the plumes really stand out for me. Beautiful cab!

Thanks for the heads up, Tommy! I can't be certain either so I would just leave it. It's a show stopper either way!

Thanks for the heads up, Tommy ! When I first saw your post, I looked at the pictures before reading what you wrote...'cause I'm just like that! LOL Just looking at the pictures, I thought it was Stinking Water like Tommy stated...but since we all know I'm one of the worst at identifying rocks, I didn't say anything. I suppose there are some GYPP that has nothing but white plumes, but pretty much all the GYPP I've seen has that "cream" (or once in awhile grey) tone somewhere in it. Your material really seems to have just that pure white to the plumes. I hate to say I think your cab is "Stinking"...but I do! LOL *I know it doesn't really make a difference...just putting my half a pot of coffee to use here! LOL

hummingbirdstonesTommy read my mind. I was about to ask you if it might be Stinking Water plume agate, and then saw Tommy's post. I strongly suspect that it is stinking water plume. Your cab is gorgeous. The backlit and live edge photos are spectacular. This is among your finest work (that I have seen, at least)!

hummingbirdstonesThis is Stinking Water plume agate for comparison. It is crystal clear agate with white plumes. The pinkish tones are from the sunset.
