Wow, holy smokes, that was a close one. agatewhisperer congrats on a well-deserving win with a gorgeous cabochon. Robin hummingbirdstones your creation was absolutely beautiful and also well-deserving of a solid win. I have to admit that as I watched it come down to the wire I was secretly hoping it would end in a tie so we could have a run-off vote and let these stones duke it out again

Here's my entry. Thunder egg? Came in a mix box from roy a while back. [Edit] adding the name from Roy: agate from mexico next to the cathedral claim called ghost Now that the contest is finished - and with all due respect to roy - I do think your piece looks a whole lot like a McDermitt thunderegg. I would even go one step further and say that I think it's a 79 Bed egg from McDermitt. With permission from the claim owner Roy and Tony took a group of us up there in 2016 and I cut quite a lot of them that look identical very similar to your slice.

What a great group of cabs from everyone that entered, and am humbled on the outcome. This was a very challenging theme, and am impressed with all the entries. Especially beautiful cab hummingbirdstones !

Beautiful entries and fun to watch the voting.
Hopefully we can get more than a day above zero at a time here this month so Ali and I can get an entry done 🤞

Congrats to everyone who entered! I thought there were at least 4 that were very close and could have won.
Now when will this month's theme be announced? 1/3 of February is already gone.

agatewhisperer - What a fantastic win...very well-deserved! I kept seeing the votes between you and Robin teeter back and forth for the last week. That was fun to watch...well...at least for me it was! LOL - When you get a chance, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll get that box of Teepee Canyon Agate slabs sent out to you. ETA - I also wanted to thank everyone who participated in this month's challenging contest! It was super fun to see what people could accomplish leaving the natural edge!

Wow, who would've thought that the competition would be listed in the competition forum.
