I have one similar to this with the white crust on the exterior. I have a hope that if I soak it in muriatic acid it might remove the nasty crust and expose a bubbly chalcedony agate layer.
you may etch the bubbly chalcedony also, slow steps!
I have been thinking about that very thing, I got to find the piece taht it came off of and maybe take another slab off and bleach it. Indecision is the key to flexibility! It is pretty brown now tho!
Just curious, does bleaching effect the polish? Will it dull the finish or anything like that that would require more polishing?
I don't think it affects the polish at all, but some people bleach just before the polishing. Haven't tried that yet.
Are you going to try bleach on this one or leave as is?

Bob, you're getting good at those videos. Tasteful.
Thanks, it is fun to do. I am thinking about using one of my Hugh slabs and lining the outside with brazilians around the outside and make a longer one.

rocknrob: There was a shop in Portland, don't know if it's still there called Kenny and Zukes who made the absolute best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The problem is every restaurant thinks their sandwich is worth $20 now and seldom makes the grade.

rocknrob: So, to end my thread on sandwiches. If you find your sandwich worthy of that price by all means keep going to that restaurant
