Thoughts and prayers hell. I say we pass the hat and help them with the bills. Hi, Mark, good to hear from you! You'd be surprised to hear that this will not break the bank. Being a senior, he is now on Medicare, so there are limits on everything. And he has a great Senior Advantage Health plan. Since I am healthy (knock on wood), we don't have to spend any money on me, so it evens out, lol. He is looking forward to sailing through this, and being able to do the things he hasn't been able to do. He will feel so much better once this heart valve is replaced. It is beyond me how he has been able to do much of anything with this clunking valve, on top of his anemia. I will be keeping everyone informed of his progress. The valve replacement procedure will be done through a vein (or is it an artery?9), most likely in his groin. They will only keep him one night, for observation. How far medical procedures have come!

Hi, Pat. If you asked him, he didn't even realize he was broken! Bob pretty much does what he wants and doesn't let little things like his health slow him down. But that is getting harder to do as he gets older.

rockpickerforever Jean...I hadn't forgot about it...I've thought about it every time I've seen a post from you since then. I too believe in the power of prayer...and the power of positive thoughts. I think this should be bumped daily. The more people who see it...the more "good vibes" will be flowing through the airwaves! If everyone who comes into this thread reads this imagine how many more prayers we can be sending out... LORD PLEASE BE WITH BOB DURING HIS TIME OF NEED AS HE PREPARES FOR HIS SURGERY. PLEASE BLESS THE SURGEON AND MEDICAL PERSONELLE WHO WILL ADMINISTER YOUR HEALING FOR BOB. THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING THERE IN OUR TIMES OF NEED...AND IN OUR TIMES THAT WE FORGET OUR NEED FOR YOU. AMEN Morning Jean! You and Bob are in my thoughts and prayers this morning.

Sending good thoughts for both of you. Hoping for no issues and a speedy and uneventful recovery. Russ Russ, thank you for thinking of us, it means a lot to us. Today Bob has an appointment at the hospital for a covid test (I thought the plandemic was over? Didn't Biden say so?), and also to go over things with the hospital before the procedure, make sure everyone is on the same page. No issues during the procedure and a speedy recovery would be most welcome! I trimmed up Bob's white beard yesterday to give the doctors easier access to his right carotid artery. He'll shave the edges tomorrow. Wednesday is almost here!

The surgery will soon be upon us, then will be done before we know it. I think recovery will not be so hard, but I'll make sure Bob follows his doctor's orders to a "T." Thank you again, Jason. You are special! (And I don't mean like one of Jerry's kids, lol.)

LOL I read my wife my "joke" post from this thread the other day...she got a horrified look on her face in disbelief that I would post that. I told her I knew you wouldn't take it as though I was making light of the situation...just trying to alleviate some tension and stress. The BOTH of you have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

I want to see those fine rocks you guys used to find posted up here. Stay on Bob and make sure he does what the doctor says for him to do ! Thank you, James. Bob is already chomping at the bit to head out to the desert. But first, we have to put the trailer back together. More than two years ago, I told Bob the suspension needed some work. When he would back it into the driveway, if would make snapping and popping sounds. The holes in the ends of the shackles were worn oblong. I bought parts to do the job. They sent the wrong ones several time. The bolts they sent had been necked down at the hex end. We tried one anyway, it snapped the head before it reached the torque it needed to be. Since that time, it has been one thing after another. Too hot, too cold, raining, Bob's health, couldn't get the correct bolts, etc. Bob found bolts that would work length wise, but they weren't wet bolts (hole drilled through center with zerk fitting at hex end for grease). So he drilled out eight of them himself! He decided he wanted to flip the axle over when we get back to it, so he got parts to do that. We'll find the time, get off our lazy butts and get it done.

I told her I knew you wouldn't take it as though I was making light of the situation...just trying to alleviate some tension and stress. The BOTH of you have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. You a funny guy, Jason. Please let your wife know that I knew you were attempting to interject some humor, add some levity to the situation. Tell her we joke around like that all the time, and seriously, I did not take one teeny, tiny bit of offense. I went to my Dad's as usual on a Monday morning, afterwards took a couple hours out of the day going to a building on the the hospital campus - the pre-anesthesia group, going over medications again, etc. Sad to say we had to wear masks in the building (same building where they do all things radiology, and they don't require muzzling), I guess they still believe masks that won't filter out something as small as a virus are going to keep the virus away, lol. He got his liquid soap (a small bottle, not a gallon bottle like I had been led to believe). Not Hexaderm, but something similar, and directions for use. Got swabs up his nose for Covid test, more swabs to check for MRSA, and they took some blood. We did find out something good - Bob has met the maximum out-of-pocket amount for the year, so no co-pay! We talked to them about the possibility that Bob might need blood during the procedure. I told them that we are both A+, and I could donate a pint. His doctor had told us earlier to just wait and see if it was necessary. The gal said even though we are the same blood type, they would still have to run additional tests to see if it would be compatible, said there is a lengthy process. Sounds like a BS story to me. When someone gets blood from the blood bank, they don't know who is going to get it, or have special compatibility tests done on it. So now we pray nothing goes wrong, and they don't have to give him any blood (to save his life, give him possibly spike-tainted blood that could kill him, same as if he had gotten the jab. Now, that makes absolutely no sense). I know everyone has different feelings on this, one of those things if you can avoid what's in the mRNA shots the better off you will be. That's all I'll say on that. I thought Biden had said the Plandemic is over? I've been awake since 3 am, so fading in and out (nodding off). Tomorrow will be a day of rest before the big day on Wednesday. We've already voted, got that out of the way a week ago. Now the weather has turned, and the weather guessers say we will get some significant rain during the next three days. Wonderful. Once again, I thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and well wishes! I plan on sleeping in a little tomorrow, hope the dang hooty owls hooting outside my bedroom window at all hours of the night don't keep me awake!
