Will be 16 tonight and 20 tomorrow night here in Bama. Then we breakout of it with cloudy days and rain topping out on Tuesday with 55 whole degrees.
Tuesday night it got down to 7 degrees here and it broke the motor in my E-250 Ford van. I had added antifreeze a few nights before but never actually measured it. Been so bummed about it that I didn't want to talk about it. Water in the oil, water coming out of tailpipe with a lot of smoke. Having to get rides to work. Taking it to a mechanic that replaces motors on Monday.
On a brighter note ... Looks like it will be warm and dry enough to do cleanouts on Sunday. It will be 1 week late. The tumblers are rolling 3 + 6 pounds in Stage 1 and a 6 pounder spinning AO 1000 prepolish with plenty of plastic beads.
In the time I wrote this, only 19 snowflakes have landed at the bottom of my screen.

aside: I was just back having a smoke (freakin' cold out there!) and came back inside and went in my iguana's enclosure. 111° in there He is still out on his (heated) sleeping shelf and I will lower the enclosure temperature to around 100 before I put him in there. But, it sure was nice standing in that enclosure for a little while!

I wondered how cold the tumblers get in the garage during some nights with temps in the low teens. The garage is not heated but it is attached to heated areas of the house. Took the sensor for the outdoor thermometer and put it on the table a couple of feet away from the tumblers. It's been reading between 34 and 37 degrees for the last few days.

Motion and friction generates some heat.

Richmond VA was on the news this AM with -2 F??? That is just wrong. Weather was rotten here the past few days with sub zero temps and strong winds driving snow into white-outs. Went to church last night and had to cross the little bridge onto the neighboring island. Had to do some drift dodging but not too bad. When I came back less than an hour and a half later, the snow had built up so bad on the bridge that the road crew was grading it into long strips, so they could push it down the causeway and off the bridge altogether. There was nowhere else to go with it. The banks were already higher than the guardrails. But I didn't fancy driving on the wrong side on the road on a narrow bridge with no traffic control.

Was supposed to get to 12 F and mostly sunny here today. It got to FOUR degrees, mostly cloudy, and winds gusting to 20 mph.

My condolences to all the folks who have turned into popscicles. Gotta love southern Arizona! Low of 48°F last night and got up to 70°F today. Expecting 74°F tomorrow. Although I may have to find a jacket for Wednesday's high of 54°F.

21 above zero this AM. Saturday AM was 21 below zero. I wonder if Al Gore could find us another 40 degrees.

Well golly gee, it's 20 F ABOVE zero right now. Now can we please lose the 'snowing and wind gusting 25 mph.'?
