Sure did but have reprogrammed myself so here are some views from last week First up last week was a trip to High Peak forest in Canterbury New Zealand. The forest has recently been cut Managed to collect a 30 l bucket of agate. Have started cleaning it up here is a small sample Pity that most of the colouring is surface sampling Cheers Scott

OK guys.... starting to get there. Hope all is going well for every one else. Unfortunately my rough wasn't the greatest from a starting point of view. From some of the fractures I would say that a D9 bulldozer run over the petrified tree trunk that it came from. Also some of the pieces are showing variable hardness which has caused some issues. However I have about 9 pieces that are shaping up nicely so should get 5 beautiful flaw free entry pieces. Up to round eight (or is it nine) of the 4-5 day 80 grit recycle and no pre grinding cracking etc. Keeping the barrel very full to keep the action as gentle as possible. How's everyone else getting on?
Cheers Scott

Just done the first clean up... Plan on doing doing short 3-4 day runs with 80 grit to maximize the grind rate until I need to move on. Saving the washed out grit as will still be useful for other loads, that have don't need a really harsh grind. Will need to get these in the post back approx 4 weeks from the deadline to be confident they will get back in time. (In saying that I bet they will get back in a week).
Cheers Scott

Hi all,
Just wondering how many of you are entering the 2016 world tumbling competition. Have entered and just got the rough. Its pretty rough. It's going to take some doing to get the five final pieces. Decided to make it even more challenging by rumbling only. Not going to do any preforming. Just tumbling.
Cheers Scott

Definitely broken up Septarian nodule, the calcite is the material that is fluorescing. Probably not the best material to be tumbling due to the extreme differences in hardness. Will undercut all to hell

Only been here a while, November 2007.... don't post much but do check in most days for a read. On occasion I will post my opinion. Anyways when spring comes all you Northern Hemisphere members get out there and have a good time hounding. Mean time I am out in the weekends licking rocks and enjoying the summer (PS Christmas was family, friends and a big plate of BBQ ginger, garlic and chilli prawns with a yogurt, lemon, garlic and tabasco dipping sauce). All the best to everyone for the new year and enjoy another year of getting out there to pick up rocks0. Cheers Scott

Looks great, level it out. Iif Grit has broken down after 2-3 hrs go to next and use a good wool carpet for the polishing pad.... can't go wrong
