A Chicago tumbler has a unique smell to it, when its first taken out of the box. At least they used to years back!I know well after going through I believe 6-8 of them. Many a trip to Harbor freight returning the tumbler and getting another one. Finally tired of the hassle.

Mama teaches her 1 yr old daughter who the boss is. This is just how these two play. Mama Pipa has always been an open field tackler no matter how much bigger visiting dogs are. She is short and compact at 70 pounds and likes to knock even large males over 100 pounds off their feet and often at full speed. This is about the 5th impact in 10 minutes, you'd think the youngster would give it up or require medical treatment. Miss my Buddy that showed up!

Thanks for the welcome snuffy. Yes, I live in the New Braunfels area. I did my undergraduate work at TAMU in College Station. My sister-in-law is moving to Bryan this fall and I hope to be in that area more. What aspects of the hobby interest you? Peace, Jeremy I basically have a small rock shop.Slabs,tumbling.Been on hold for the last few years.I live near Kurten,9 miles from Bryan.Class of '71. You will have to stop by when you are in town! I'm getting up in age and no reason to hoard all the tons of rocks I have. Gig'em snuffy

snuffy Were yours older ones? It seems the dowel placement issues are only with the new ones. Yeah, probably 8-10 years old.Maybe they don't make them like they used to,like most things!

It seems like mine would do that sometimes.Would push it down to make sure its a snug fit.I always had a good amount of smalls along with larger sized rocks. It looks like all are larger size.

Dang Jim,just ran across this.Tractors are dangerous and doesnt take but one slipup for something bad to happen. There are several that have died in my community as a result of turning over. One got knocked off by a limb while shredding and he fell under the mower,it ran over him.At least our hayfields are smooth that I run over every day.And a big air conditioned cab.Be careful!!

Hey Jim.I have my Granpa's old whiskey still that he used back in the 1920's.Jugs too. Would fit well up there.Enjoy the new surroundings. The whole still !!?? That's amazing snuffy. Were you aware of his reputation as a shiner ? Had to be easy to know whom is making moonshine back in the old days in these hills. Follow the corn. Had to be grown in those small valleys close by. Finding the stills is another story. Easy to hide a 747 in those hills excepting modern satellite. Moonshine runners learned to modify cars to run faster than the sheriff's. I believe Nascar was started by the moonshiners with their clever mechanical skills. He made it for his personal use.Interesting story: My Mom and Dad were neighbors on adjoining farms. One day my Dad took a shortcut through the woods to see her,and came upon Granpa cooking away.
