Those. Are. Fabulous. I am totally gob smacked by those photos. Haven't seen the quality of tumble like that in a long time. You need to come over to the Facebook page and show these newbies what can be achieved!

I am very pleased to hear that Cat is on the road to recovery. Many years ago, I adopted a stray male adult Maine Coon Cat who developed a similar ailment. Not knowing his age, I did take him to the vet and had to give him a pill every morning. Not Fun! He enjoyed some time before the process got to the inevitable stage and I had to put him down. I think this was even before they had the special diet food. BTW, His name was Kat!

a tip an old lapidary taught me, fill the gaps with salt or sugar before you dop it. then no wax gets in the voids or vugs, the wax will grip to what it can.

glad you chose the abundance of caution, at least for now. I will tell you how I came by the emergency money, some folks call it "mad money". My husband and I were out with friends for dinner and relied on either a check (back in the day) or credit card to pay for things like that. This was a place that was out in the back and beyond and only took cash. We were flummoxed. Luckily, our friends had an emergency hundred tucked behind his Driver's License and was able to bail us out of a sticky situation. Since then, we both carry an emergency $100. And that was almost 30 years ago.
