So how long do you think it will take to "polish" your entire drive-way? (giggle, giggle)

Pictures of your polisher, please? I'd love to see just wha tit looks like. It sounds like a great idea for the handy individual. Nice cab by the way!

Until it is completely smooth. Whether it takes 2 or 10. Of course other people aren't as picky. You might save some time by grinding out with a dremel tool first to get rid of worst of the pits... What kind of a bit or drum do you use on your Dremel to grind out pits and flaws? How long would you work on a stone like the one shown?

I don't know you Stu, but I am sorry to hear that you lost your loved pet. I had a cat that lived to be 21, and even then it was hard for me to accept that it was her time. It was so hard, that I have never replaced her. Maybe some day?
Try to remember that Sebastien is no longer suffering, and we'd never want a loved one to suffer due to our own selfishness. God Bless!

Very nice macro work with the camera. I love shooting macro of both insects and flowers. I shoot the desert cacti in AZ, and the wild flowers in Montana. Keep up the great work!

My wife and I are going to try and hit it several times. This will be our first visit to the TGS. We are now close enough to make it several times. Because we have never been to the show before, we will have to do some "guessing" as what shows to see. Does anyone have a list of the spots that we "plain just don't want to miss"? We will be looking more than buying, but if I find the right rough for tumbling, who knows what I might come home with?!

What a beautiful pup! I can't decide which photo I like the best! They should be in a photo contest!

That second photo is amazing. Jim I'd agree. You may also try to use a natural (filtered sun) light for your illumination. Cool stuff, that's for sure!

What is this rant? I thought this was a forum for rock rumbling, and other related mineral topics. Obviously not! I made a mistake when I signed on if this is what this forum is about and supports. A student wrote this, you say. They obviously are not very bright if they bring up the time frame "late 50's". Maybe at 50+ years of age, they should just give up on the 3rd grade and be a drop out! This post was TOTALLY ridiculous!

Hi Everyone!
I am wondering if there are any venders out there or folks who know of someone who may have Oregon Beach Agates for sale for plain old tumbling? I am looking for "beach rounded" rough in the 1" to 2" range. Thanks in advance if you can head me in the right direction here.

OK, Thanks for the good info. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the recommended tile saw brand(s) and minimum hp rating I should consider, and is a 7" blade large enough to cut through a 1"-2" rock? Again, thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Hi, I hope I am not in the wrong section of this forum. If I am, forgive me. I just need some good "coaching". I have done some searches, but I did not find the kind of info that I am in need of. I'm not new to rock tumbling, but I am getting more and more involved in the hobby all the time. I now think that I'd like to do some cutting of my rocks before I tumble them. I can't afford a slab saw due to all the other expensive hobbies I enjoy. I am more interested in cutting or "slabbing" my small (1"-2") rocks and then tumbling them. At this time I am not into jewelry making, just producing nature's beauty for my own enjoyment. If others like them also, GREAT! I have heard that a tile saw will work, but I need some real coaching on what to avoid, what to look for, and any and all suggestions. I have heard that that some saws are very dirty (messy). That is not what I need, as I do not have a shop area to work in, just a finished garage. I have heard some say that you can cut with a dry diamond blade. Others say that it needs to be mineral oil lubricated. Can the rocks be "hand-fed" for the cutting? Maybe my "wish" is not very practical for me...I don't know? I need name brand suggestions, models, best kind of blade (again brands, models), where to shop for the saws, etc. I am hoping to be able to cut through at least 1 1/4"-1 11/2" thick rocks, but I could be satisfied with 1" if need be--due to cost, practicality, etc. If anyone can tell me what you use, like, have good success with---without making a huge mess, I would be very grateful.
