if etched it has classic meteorite crystalline lattices like a Gibeon meteorite Missed your post when I read your thread on the ferrosilicon, jamesp, because I didn't know if it were etched it would look like the Widmanstätten pattern seen in some meteorites, such as Gibeon. I still like Hornblende the Ferrosilicon Hippo.

Those are really pretty Georgia cross-tie walker granites, jamesp! You could listen to CCR while tumbling. Your dogs would probably enjoy some CCR, too, and maybe howl a tune for you.

I have a guy coming from Canada to pick up a saw in May, maybe he can bring one back for you? Not sure if shipping within Canada would be a lot cheaper? Tony Hope that this may be a possiblity for you to get a saw, spiritstone. You have a lot of material that needs to be cut! Not having the best day, watched the neighbors brother run into my truck tonight and dent in the bumper. 250 to replace the chrome and have to look into shop time now. I just dont have the time to rip it apart right now, otherwise I would do it myself. We'll see what's best after i sleep over it. Thanks. Dang, spiritstone, sure hate to hear that about your truck. Is your neighbors brother going to pay for the damage to your bumper?

Thank you for updating your thread, NDK! Glad that you have your drains installed in the pans so they are ready to use when you get the tubing. What did you use to attach the nylon strap strips onto the hood?

I empathize with you not wanting to fool with delivery confirmation, peachfront, but we use it when mailing important letters or documents. It sets us 'at ease' to know that the letter was received since it contains important information, plus the receiver cannot say they did not receive it.

peachfront, did you mail the letter with signature confirmation? We always mail 'important' mail with signature and delivery confirmation.

Never had any problems receiving or delivering packages/letters through USPS. USPS also delivers for FedEx and UPS. I do not care for FedEx or UPS costs for delivery. I have noticed that I have purchased items from evilbay and receive a tracking number for the package, but it may take a day or two for it to appear on the USPS website. I wondered if the delay in showing up on USPS website is because the seller has labels with a tracking number and has not taken the package to the post office for entry into their database. about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm My mother retired after 27 years of service with the USPS as a rural carrier several years ago. They were expected to deliver regardless of weather conditions, and her route was 100 miles each day. One time she had chicken biddies in cages to deliver, lol. When she was a carrier, a letter that was mailed from Cairo, GA to Thomasville, GA would have to be sent to Macon, GA to be sorted and processed before it would arrive to its destination in Thomasville. Cairo and Thomasville are about 15 miles apart. It's about 155 miles from Cairo to Macon, GA.

Wow, spiritstone, that is beautiful stuff! Bauxite out mohs over 5. Knife does not scratch. I'm saying orbicular rhyolite. Seems too grainy and not glassy to be Jasper or chert. Good guess, @shotgunner! Didn't think of orbicular rhyolite. I read that rhyolite is found in Arkansas. Could it be pisolitic bauxite or possibly oolite? Like washingtonrocks, I was thinking along the lines that it may be oolitic chert or jasper. Maybe the "men of orbs" will know - Sabre52 and stephan??

That's pretty cool that you used Cad software (at work...ahem ) to design a shape for your cabochon, Drummond Island Rocks. I love your cab! Have heard of faceters using cad software and very interesting to see it used for creating different shapes for cabs. Thanks for sharing!!

Wonderful shine on your first batch and enjoyed your surprises, rockymom! Woah...garnets!! Those look sweet! How long did you tumble them? I like your tiger eye and labradorite tumbles, too. How large are the Brazilian garnets that you purchased from The Rock Shed? Haven't checked in a while, but last time I looked at the Rock Shed website, all of the garnets were sold out.
