I can't post a pic because I don't know what it is called to look it up. Paradox Ever heard of Google? Or QuackQuackGo? Makita calls it an inner flange. Milwaukee, just a plain ol’ flange. makita.in/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/GA4050R_PD.pdfPlenty more where that one came from. Of course I have heard of google. I can't google something that I can't name. I couldn't think of that part's name either. It isn't the part I meant, but it is also helpful.

No, I bought a 7 inch grinding disc and it does not fit on my giant angle grinder because I took the nut and other part off to allow the 4 inch one that had its own threads to go on. Now, a few years later, I have no idea where the old parts are and the grinder is a true antique. So, I figure I will mount the disc on a motor, but I can not figure out what to call the part that the disc goes onto that mounts on the shaft. I may just have to buy a brand new angle grinder and go from there, but don't really want to.

What do you call the part that connects a diamond grinding disc to the end of a motor shaft? This is driving me up the wall and I need to make a bigger grinder for my projects.

Striving for perfection is good. It is not going to happen very often, but it does occasionally peek out of the rock from time to time. The thing is, if you don't have the rough with the potential, you will not get perfection. I have a personal thing with not wanting to fool with stuff that is not to my standards. Everyone else seems to like the stuff fine, but I don't feel it is good enough. This causes me to discard thousands of chunks of good material in favor of the really great stuff. I know my expectations are not realistic, but it still goes on.
Don't end up like me, overly concerned with perfect.

Yeah. I had a chunk like your upside down California shaped one too. I was not pleased with it. Then again, I have had quite a few duds this year. Most of the geodes I hauled out of Corral Nuevo were duds too.

I hope you're going to show some finished spheres! That's some nice looking purple in that core. That is dumortierite. It cut way too easy. I am concerned that it is not going to work out.

That was the big heavy SoB that I was carrying up the hill when we were waiting to move on to the next spot.

That right there is why I go to AZ and run around the desert. I rarely find stuff like that any more. Used to.
