She said that my heart is not pumping correctly. The main part is driving at about 20%. That explains why I am always so tired and out of breath.
She says I am going to take aspirin and go see the cardiologist.
She says she has seen some people come out of it ok.
So, either I will get better or they will find my bones out in the desert somewhere.

Don, do you have anyone helping you?
I am only 5 hours away in MN. I am going to MT in May. Maybe I could cut a few days off of the trip and come help you with anything you need help with, but are not strong enough to do alone.

Dorthy was born in Grand Rapids Minnesota, I believe the Mississippi flows through there. Is that the midwest 1dave ? The 1803 Louisiana Purchase is generally in the Central US. For the past 200 years the West has been everything west of Wichita Kansas, and the Midwest has been Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, etc. are all in the MidEast! It'll be a cold day in hell when MN is in the middle east.

Where I am in the southern part of MN I am in both the Midwest and the Wild, Wild West.
We are legendary.

This is Lucy. She was really sneaky. I ran her head over with my truck. It broke me inside.

Even in the desert there is water. They might have to go 30 feet to get it, but they will go.
And mark my words, if she tries to plant some flowers along a sidewalk 1000 yards away, she will hit one of its roots. They can't resist slabs of concrete.

Their roots go down seeking water. They find it.

You should see some of the ugly crap I have discovered inside some very promising looking rocks. OK! Let's see 'em. Since you are new. you couldn't possibly know what happens to my rejects. They go over the hill and sink in. They have all gone to the graveyard.

People often confuse pragmatism with pessimism.

I have a red Maple right outside my back door. Naturally the core trunk is dead 15 feet up and the lower branches are well. It is sitting on the razor's edge every time I take the saw out. The positives always outweigh the one negative. If I cut it down, it is forever. That is why I am taking my time on the decision.

I have never found a girl with hard boiled eggs. All I know is that I prefer her to have her eggs unfertilized.

I usually kill and butcher 1 snapper per year. Haven't for the past 3 years though.

Snappers do not take fingers off and they do not snap broom handles. That is a story that was made up to keep people from fooling with them. I imagine that a large aligator snapper could take a finger off if it was the really big ones and if it hit the joint just right. Other than that, it is just a bunch of hooey. I have handled hundreds of snappers and only been bit a few times. It hurts but not as bad as it is claimed. Softshells will bite too, but they are no more dangerous than any other similar sized turtle. They prefer to turn tail and go like a raped ape.

Do not go gentle into that good night Hell no! It ain't over til its over. Maybe, just maybe, in a world with real justice, maybe someone in a lab somewhere will have an "AHHH HAAA" moment and figure out a cure that can make the criminals richer. Then you can keep on making fun things. I'll have the puppy cross her fingers, she doesn't do a damned thing any way.

I am hoping 2-3 gallons.
I will not get it all cooked down tonight. It is 10 20 here and I am starting to get tired. I will start the fire right after work tomorrow so that means I should have a good 8 hours to cook the rest. I suspect that the sap will not flow real great tomorrow so I will let it run and harvest on Monday and start cooking again then. Assuming the sap is still good at that point.

Just under 100 gallons from 61 trees. Not the best haul, but it sure beats a stick in the eye.

I called an expert in WI and asked him about a rumor I heard about the silver maples. He said that I should have been tapping them and I should go out and do a test run on them right away. I hit 61 trees yesterday and they produced well. I only brought home 2 5 gallon buckets 3/4 full of sap to test. I did one and got 8 sample jars and one 1/2 pint 3/4 full of over thick scraped out of the pan. I would have had more, but I cooked it down the the maximum brix. That makes less syrup. Tomorrow I will bring samples to work and have the critics try it to see if it is good or not. My taste buds might be scewed because of breathing all of that steam.
I should have more sap than I can handle tomorrow.
