My name is bill. I am a rockhound and have much to learn. I recently retired and been taking road trips and collecting ( you can never have enough rocks ) I worked in the UPS Plant engineering for the last 25 years and now I am free to explore. My wife Patti and I love to explore and collect. I hope to be able to learn from and contribute to this forum. It took me a while to introduce myself as I have been reading a lot. (I hate to ask dumb questions) regards bill Welcome from the Oregon Coast, lots of great people on this site.

Also could someone please tell me what "PM me" means? Lol..I know it may seem like a dumb question...my first guess is post message? Haha no worries. it means to send the person a private message. If you click on their user name you go to their profile and then you can click on the "send message" button. Thank You I was way off, funny though...I'm not big on the internet jargon yet...I will get there someday, I appreciate your help...

Thanks for the warning about this guy. He'd sent me a message on eBay a few weeks ago, asking if I'd take a discounted price for a stone. (I didn't offer "Or best offer", but I guess he wanted to try anyway.) I ignored him, but after your post I've blocked him from buying from me. Your welcome, he also sent me a message about a month ago wanting me to drop the price an additional $60.00 on a cathedral that I had listed...I declined and he sent me a message stating that he wasn't pleased. I was willing to go $20.00 off just to cover my cost on it and he never responded. I wish I would have blocked him then.

Grand opening this weekend? Pm me your address. Yes were opening at 9:00 am this Friday July 1st and will be open until 6:00 pm 7 days a week. Its been busy getting everything priced and set up. Also didn't know that I had to get my scale inspected and licensed to sell by the pound, however I'm able to sell by weight as long as it is prepackaged. I will get that done asap and will place rough and slabs in priced tubs in the mean time. The address is Street Car Village 6334 S. Hwy 101 Lincoln City, OR 97367. Thanks So Much for your Support. Mark...

Have you got a name yet? Is there an alarm system? No name yet...lol...My wife and I haven't come to an agreement yet. I have a surveillance system on the way and my electrician friend is going to install an alarm.

If you have tourist traffic there I would really play up the Oregon Thunder Eggs. Also Sun Stones. Oregon beach rocks, wood, etc. Tourists like area specific material. The crystal market is always good. You right about the thunderegg, Agates, & wood. I am making a large print out in the store stating the history of the thunderegg and it being the state rock. I do not have any good quality sunstones at this time, just about 50 lbs of the rough thats not much good for anything other than tumbled. I have some impressive wood that I will photograph and about 250 lbs of the coarse, medium, and fine grit. I have 70 lbs of the tripoli, the red stuff that is. Its a start and have lots of learning ahead of me.

I'm gonna ask - 'cuz that's just how I am and no one else probably will ... Do you have any higher end rocks to put on those shelves? You just holding back on bringing in the good stuff until the store is ready to open? Looking at your eBay store, there are 300+ items but none over $100 and the vast majority below ten bucks. Gonna take a boat load of thunder egg halves to pay the rent on a place like that. Guess I'm basically asking, what are you going to be selling to draw people in and make them want to come back for more? Have you got any larger windows on the front of the store to have window displays to draw folks in? I have large petrified wood rounds that will be available, that are being worked on now and will also have large amethyst cathedrals. I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me to get "high end" however I am going to do everything I can to make this successful. I have high end fire Agates, Australian Opal, and lots of other good material that I would never even think about listing on EBay. I have spheres high end ocean jasper slabs, Malachite, Crazy lace, Laguna, zacateus, etc...

I'm not finding a match for Zekdarl in the advanced search. Is the spelling correct? Thanks. Larry C. my apologies it is spelled right but is all lower case zekdalr. You can also Google mloganrocks and it will link you to my EBay one way or another, and you can find him in feedback (just look for the big red - sign)...lol... my eBay user id is mlogan8799 all lower case if that helps, good luck.

Zekdarl is the Ebay id, look up his "feedback left for others" history. It's an absolute nightmare for Ebay sellers! he will not contact you first for return or anything, he will just hit hit you with a negative. Gettin' there. Your saw isn't going to be set up in the same room as all those display cases is it? No it is in a back enclosure room that measures 10 x 7. It is a 16" Nelson and the quietest saw I have compared to my others. I am going to build a box to put underneath and put sound board up on the walls to keep the sound level to a minimum. I am also going to be using mineral oil, if you look at 5th picture I think, you can see the Brown door behind the counter to the right. That's the room that the saw is in and the door on the left is the restroom. I do not have another shop adjoining the side with where the saw is placed.

The seller only has a feedback of 100 and has left 61 negatives!!!!!!! Wow!!!! Would you mind PMing me the sellers name so I can put them on my blocked bidders list? I don't know what their problem is but who needs that kind of customer? Larry C. Zekdarl is the Ebay id, look up his "feedback left for others" history. Finally received my first negative feedback from buyer who has left negative feedback to 61 other sellers. Contacted EBay and they are reporting him, however they refuse to remove it. He made no attempt to contact or get refunded which we offer for 30 days on all of our products. He cut the rock already which was a nice 4 lb 14 oz flowering tube onyx solid chunk specimen, so irritated! I hope to have my shop successful to get away from EBay and create my own website, EBay does not protect its sellers even with buyers with his track record.
