I’d posted this one in Rock ID but forgot to here. My kids best friend found it (green jasp-agate). We had such high hopes for it until it broke then broke again and broke yet again. It’s such a rich green color with small blue angate fortifications, along with some eye catching tan accents. Now I’m just hoping for a pile of nicely shined, green rocks, but the way it’s going we’ll end up with green gravel lol.

That is odd.  I would have guessed from the outside pic (other than the one big fracture) that the rock was pretty solid.  Looks like the yellow stuff on the inside is not.  Will be interesting to see if it polishes.

That’s very good to know! What part of Texas did you find yours?

I find these out near Alpine TX at places like Larremore and Kokernot O6 ranch.

This one is different. Found it in the same pile where I found other West Texas rocks so I’m assuming it’s from that area. Cute little guy though, it is.

This one’s showing a peak inside after a month in course. Moss or plume? I’m still unsure the difference between the two.

Brecciated Jasper/quartz/feldspar thing? It’s held up great through a couple rounds course. I was worried I would fall apart at first, but it seems really solid. Im hoping it takes a good shine.

I believe there definitely is a definitive difference between moss and plume agates. I just need a bit more schooling to make sure I can tell.  I think the 2nd to last one I posted is considered a Plum agate and the one right before it moss…
