Here's mine for September, a piece of Brazilian I had been looking at. The slab The Cab On top of a mirror, if the slab was thin it might be kinda cool as a doublet. Lee, that is freakin' stunning! Here is my official entry. Since jasoninsd abandoned his own Prairie Agates, I decided to make a cab from a rock he gave me and enter it. It polished really nicely and the white dots are reflections of lights (I need to get a light box). The background you see is a large piece of petrified tree bark with what I think is petrified poison ivy (crossed pattern) on it. Good to know that stuff has been iritating humans and animals for ages. First photo is the size comparison with the penny. Original slab: Full on and edge shots: Chris Thanks for representing the PAs Chris! LOL That's a beauty of a cab...and really shows the polish the Prairie Agate can get!! My entry was between the Montana Agate...and a Prairie Agate that had a fortification line going through it (not a Fairburn). The PA broke when I was shaping the preform...and I didn't care too much for the new shape. Thus, my entry fell to the MA! Sorry, I'm switching things up at almost the last minute! I've found lots of rose quartz and never have cabbed it- so here's my entry. Tommy , please use this one sir! The rock, a few slabs and the cab. Of course it looks better in person- I couldn't out-smart my phone to capture the true pink color. 🙄 Great pink tones in that one Mike! Is that from our neck of the woods?? My entry is some Lavic Crossing Jasper I picked up on my journey to Quartzite earlier this year. Great looking material Gary! Fantastic cab out of it!! Deleted prior entry. Will go with this for fair play. Polkadot Agate Figured you'd come through on this one! Quiet night 🤣🤣 atleast enjoying a Lions game .. hopefully hold on for the WIN 13 points up with 1:16 to go...they might take it!

Quiet night 🤣🤣 atleast enjoying a Lions game .. hopefully hold on for the WIN My team's (SEA) offense sure tried to ball out but I think they must have left their defensive plans on the baggage carousel, or at least their run defense. Montgomery was a BEAST! Kudos to a good Lions team this year.

You guys should watch MMA. I've done my share of Casino MMA promotion ads and I'll gladly pass on this opportunity to watch this unless MMA means "Metalsmithing, Marcasite and Agates",

Haha I just took it post by post and the only thing I messed up and had to re-do was the numbering after [edit] someone[/edit] switched it up. Maybe asking folks to delete prior submissions like you did would be helpful - or I can just be careful and review the entire thread first as I always try to do

Some real nice entries, y'all make the decision difficult. I'll have to get Elizabeths help this time...

I want to thank everyone you threw their hat in the ring on this one! I've been privy to several conversations regarding "the priciest material" having an advantage in the monthly contests...so I've been dying to give this theme a go. I was hoping people would take the "cheap/common" material and find the diamonds in the rough (pun intended!). I was also hoping this could show some pretty dazzling cabs can come from some inexpensive material. Y'all did exactly that! Give yourselves a pat on the back as there's some sweet eye-candy this month!

This month's contest tipped the scale from being "into" cabbing on my flat lap towards being "addicted" to cabbing period. I'll eventually get one of those cabbing machines or expandable wheel arbors and really get cracking. I've got too many slabs not to do this. Because of some stupid internal honor mechanism, I won't vote for my own cab but good luck to everyone. Some really REALLY pretty work out there for the cheap material. - Rob
