Connived with the wife to let me move her hoarded stuff and let me make a man cave in the basement close to where the wood stove is. I built the walls 25 years ago out of 7 fallen appalachian style chimneys i carried in from the 2500 acres behind the house. Got heat, peace and a refridge, heavenly. About to go medieval on those wood shelves and remove them into kindling. The Man Cave. ugggg

Look up Bickerstaff Brick Co. some time Snuffy. They were a large brick maker and an old family. The clay hills along the Chattahoochee River was sobout the best brick clay around. They are still mining those hills. Don't know why the clay is so good. It has the right color!

That's going to be so relaxing! What are you going to use for shelving?
If this is a jewelry shop, are you going to sell jewelry in there? That means letting other people in.
Where's your wife's Woman Cave?

Pat, I think he meant jewelry "workshop". Can't wait to see the progress on the WIP. This may be nearly as epic as Adrian's home in Romania!

I did one of those 20 years ago and ain't doing it again. This is .00001 as big as Adrain's project. And also dwarfed. It's just a little man hole. Forced out of all the desirable areas by my dominate wife.

It will be epic in the sense that you will make lots of pictures for your new "jewelry studio".

Where's your wife's Woman Cave? Dear Pat: On the subject of the 'Woman Cave'....This is what she has taken over by eminent domain Keep in mind that i built this thing about by myself and i think she painted a couple of walls. I have the front half of the silver over sea container on the left.(180 sq. ft.) She has the whole red oversea container. She has the 1200 sq. ft. front room. She has the 1000 sq. ft. back room. OH I forgot, we share the back half of my silver oversea container for maintenance materials. So, she has 1200 +1000+360 = 2560 sq. ft. I have 180 + my new Man Cave =330 sq. ft. I know you think us southern men keep or wives bare foot and pregnant. But she is some kind of stallion ()itch when it comes to taking over. I do have a nice dog house upstairs and due to devious nature i end up there quite often. And the dogs will not visit me up there. It's torture.

I'm am green with envy. You have a lot of potential there. I'll be keeping an eye on this project, as well. I'm not telling my old man, he might get some ideas. He already has more room than I do for his hobby and his doesn't even make money with it. But, it keeps him home, so I don't complain. (and I can borrow his tools)

My wonderful husband is a model builder. He builds scratch models of anything sci fi. We both love sci fi. He gets pictures or screenshots off the web and converts them to scale and tries to copy them. He is forever inventing tools and using make shift stuff. We call him the glue guy because he has every glue or epoxy you can think of. The grandkids go running to him every time they break something. We all know to scrutinize everything that gets thrown away. It could easily be a part of a Firefly or Millennium Falcon. Unfortunately, he rarely finishes one. He likes the challenge of converting the image to a doable form and figuring out how to make it and with what, but he loses interest after he figures out how to do it. Not that he hasn't finished some, he has and they are good, but he has more half finished than finished. It makes him happy.

That will be a hell of nice shop James Well Tom. Lets see what tools go in it. I have a welder outlet down there. I may just weld up some benches outside and set them in there. Instead of welding them on site. If i had steel on the walls(posts etc) i would weld in the room direct. May use wood. It's quiet and warm. hmmmm

Where's your wife's Woman Cave? I wanted to say that my wife works hard in her cave Pat. I make money outside, she makes money in the studio. So she gets the studio. She makes hanging lights out of found/vintage stuff. Hard work
