Yep, then off to TByrd if she's ready, then back to me to prep for the next round!

Dang! Did everything I could to stuff everything in box and tape. Ended up with a gap in the final flaps of 1/32" over 1/2". Had to go to PO anyways for something else, so asked them if that size gap would be OK. They said yes, as long as all sides would be under 1/2" bulge, which they are. I know some PO's are more picky than others. Mine is very liberal or regulations. Waiting for Cody to check in before mailing as I do not want the box to be rejected at his PO or points in between. My printer is also on the fritz a little, so cannot print a readable label. Will need to hand print some parts of address. Every other line prints of addresses, but UPC Code prints fine. The top areas of label with the postage, etc., are OK. My PO said it would be fine.
I do not want anything I do to prevent this box from getting to Cody. Past experiences tell me to err on the cautious side. Do not want to purchase a new printer just to print this label, but if it comes to this, I will. Hoping others will chime in on using partial computer printed shipping labels with some hand printed areas. I already paid for the shipping with extra insurance.

Should be good to go! I think filling in the address label will be perfectly fine, if anything make sure that if you tape over it that you use an acid free tape or the ink will vanish. Thanks, fernwood!

I have the heavy duty Gorilla packing tape. Acid free pens for this. Now just need to print label, fill in missing areas and good to go.

One stuffed, over taped LBRB headed to Luminin I added some Thunder Bay, Canada Amethyst tumble pieces and other smaller items. Removed one piece of the larger volcanic material I was going to add. Just not enough room. Put what were smaller loose pieces upon arrival in a bag. There are still some larger pieces and thicker slabs loose in the box. Well, not really loose, but packed in tightly. When I shook the box there was no sound. After checking out prices for some of the slabs, upped insurance to $100.00. That should cover value of some cabbing slabs. Many similar slabs are being offered for sale for $3.00 to $20.00 each. Considering there are about 30 slabs in the box, the insurance value is low. Call me paranoid.

Arrived safe and sound! I've been going through it and drooling over everything. Thank you so much for the turquoise and findings, fernwood! Mom is super excited and has already stated she wants at least one ring. I'm mostly oogling, holding off incase TByrd is ready to recieve, but there is at least one piece I'm going to keep so far, a small slab of peanut obsidian. I'm not a specimen collector, at least I keep telling myself that despite the growing collection in my bedroom, but this little thing is gorgeous and too cool for me to pass up!

Yes, that is a very nice piece of peanut. I spent a long time looking at it. Glad you (and your Mom) liked the goody bag. Be sure to post a photo of her ring(s).

I haven't heard back from TByrd, so when I get home from vacation I'll be sorting through the box, building starter for the next round and such. It'll be a couple weeks, sorry for the delay!

Haven't gotten to it, I'm being forced back to day shift next week so I'm afraid it may be a while before I sort through everything.

Sorry for the delay everyone! I'm working a ton of overtime right now, but I took the time today to go through everything and choose what I wanted. I'm not keeping much, only 13 pieces total, literally one handful!
The Cedar City agates, apparently I love them... Over half of what I'm keeping from the box is Cedar City, 7 pieces of the ~15. I've also chosen to take two pieces of the Holt Canyon. A piece of rose quartz. And finally, for specimen samples, a small slab of Indian Blanket and a tiny piece of Tiffany that's almost half the size of my thumb. It's labeled Tiffany, but I'm not sure, it's a light purple. And can't forget the piece of Peanut Obsidian I fell in love with!
I'm hopping to start packing the next Traveling Rock Box within the next few weeks, so that means that I'll be starting a new thread with the rules and asking for names!
Sorry it's taking me so long, we'll get the next box moving hopefully before October!
~Cody

The Cedar City agate & some of the Holt Canyon agates were from me. Lots of great colors & dendrites in the Cedar agate. I hope to see the cabs & tumbles from those. Lynn
