I wish... I've got one of those chatoyant actinolites on the saw now. It'll be another full day before that one is finished. I'm pacing though!

I'm planning to put together a couple of bags of tumbling grade Olympic Poppy Jasper, and I'd like to know what size stones make up a good mix. I was thinking of ranging from 1.5" down to .5", but that's just my best guess. Thanks in advance! Joshua

Stellar! Any chance you've got a photo of the slab? I've got 40lbs of this in the yard, and I'm not sure how to grade the slabs....

That very very near where this one came from... Awaiting some hardness testing now.

Thanks Shotgunner. This isn't even close to the best of Listwanite I've seen around these parts. I'll try to get a killer specimen posted soon. In the meantime, I'm carving a set of address numbers out of the block from the above photo..

I find this rarely on my local beach. It's part of the package brought from BC on the glacier express. Similar to Mariposite from CA, but I understand it to be a little harder.

Cut this local beach rock yesterday, and I was stunned by the pattern. I think it's Rodingite, with some other unknowns mixed in. Cab idea:

Mel-
With the exception of pattern and color, that photo is a perfect match of my rough. I break up boulders of basalt/andesite to extract the nodules. They usually end up in the 1-3" range too.
Nice!

Thanks for the welcome's folks! Roy, I do remember you from FB. It's hard to keep up with all these groups! Thankfully it's a lot of the same people, so it keeps me honest.

Love the pattern on the first one! Whoever said you need big orbs?

This is a new to me rough that I've started cutting this week. Massive chatoyant crystals throughout the entire stone. Stone has a pleasant green color with silvery chatoyant patches. Nearly the entire slab is chatoyant from some angle. Comes from the north Cascade mountains in Washington State. Photo taken wet in sunlight. It's hard to photograph chatoyancy, so any tips would be appreciated.

Miander- Anytime! Rocpup - I'm keeping my rough location private. It's not very productive, perhaps 250lbs of high grade a year. I do offer rough on ebay from time to time too... I'm sure that you well know what can happen to a spot when word gets out. I would recommend checking out Rialto beach in La Push. I've found some very nice beach tumbled pieces there that are fist sized. Green eyes too! Pics for clicks-
